Natasha woke up to the sound of someone walking into her room. "Please go, I want to be alone" She said without even turning her head to see who it was. The person behind her didn't walk away. Natasha eventually turned around to see who was there.

"You're the last person I want to talk to right now." Natasha sighed. "Yeah...I know but this was just what I... was scared of!" Tony took a step closer to Natasha. "Okay...you know, lecture me now. I already feel miserable and I don't care anymore. I know this is my fault." Natasha said and stopped herself from breaking into a million pieces.

"I'm sorry that it went like this. Pepper really made me see the deep connection you too had created so quickly. I really think you guys would be good together" Tony said without creating eye contact with Natasha.

"Yeah...thanks but you shouldn't wish anything to happen because I am probably the last person Ria wants to talk to right now" Natasha mumbled and turned her head away from Tony.

She didn't want to feel so vulnerable in front of Tony, this was the side of her she always buried under her skin. Natasha tried to gather herself up. She somehow managed to keep the tears in. She wasn't sure but she knew that Tony wouldn't probably be the best person to be around and cry.

"Oh...Okay well I have something for you to get your mind off of this. You're leaving for a mission tomorrow." Tony said and swallowed. He was still keeping his eyes to the walls. "What is it...and who's coming?" Natasha asked quickly without promising anything.

"Well...It was supposed to be umm...you and Agent Hill, as an apology for how I reacted but it can probably be changed too." Tony said and for the first time looked at Natasha. Then he really saw how broke she was. "I mean if you don't want to go after all, you don't have to, it's really okay if you want a few days off!" Tony added when he noticed how Natasha was barely holding herself together.

"Umm...yeah, you should ask Maria if she wants to come. I don't mind but it's her call. And don't worry about me, I umm will be okay" Natasha said with her voice fading. She was trying to hold it all together but felt like anything could break her. She just wanted Tony to leave.

Tony nodded and walked out of the room. He thought about doing a somewhat comforting gesture but decided not to. He tried to convey the apologetic look to Natasha but noticed that there wasn't much he could do.

Maria woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door. She got up even though it took all her energy. She glanced at herself from the mirror, surprised that she didn't look as trash as she had imagined.

"Hi! Tony asked me to come here and ask you about the next mission." Wanda said when Maria opened the door. Maria swung her hand as a welcome to her room.

"Soo...what about it?" Maria asked and glanced at Wanda who sat on the couch. Wanda took a deep breath and started, "The mission was supposed to be yours and Natasha's but...it is totally under..." Maria stopped Wanda and turned her head away. "I will still go. I've been professional in my work and I still am so this doesn't change anything!" She said trying to hide the hesitation she was having.

Maria knew she could go on the mission. Of course it wouldn't be fun but she still needed to show her professional side. "Maria, you don't really have to say that. We can find someone else on the mission, I sense you actually feel horrible." Wanda tried to explain.

"Thanks...and yes I do feel bad but this is a work thing and I have to do it. Personal feelings and relationships can't get in the way!" Maria made her point clear. Wanda wanted to try and change Maria's mind because she was scared that the mission could somehow make things worse.
