Caleb Pierce's pov
2 months have passed since I set out to prove my theory that Percy is some how abusing Annabeth. I know how it may sound but I'm not the jealous type. But I know he's doing something to her and is trying to keep it quiet but I won't let it go on any longer. I walked in to first period with a plan, I was going to ask Annabeth if I could come over after school because I needed help with my greek. Although that isn't a total lie I am going over ask for help but what she doesn't know is that I will be looking for anything that could help me prove my point.

I saw Annabeth sitting at her desk waiting for class to start. Now's my chance so I walked up to her. "Hey Annabeth I have a really huge favor to ask you." She looked up from her paper to face me. "Yeah sure what is it?"

"I wanted to know if I could come over today after school? I'm really struggling with my Greek and you have the best grade in the class."

"Yeah, I can help you today. Just swing by for an hour or two and I'll help you the best I can." She said with smile and went back to studying her paper.

I practically zoned out all day, I only remember my morning chat with Annabeth and lunch other than that it was a blur. The bell rang and everyone flooded out into the hall way, running, pushing, and jumping over each other so they could leave before the buses. I pushed through the front doors to see Annabeth leaning on a blue car with a beat up top. I casually walked over to greet her.

I waved my hand at her as I approached her.  "Hey Annabeth." She looked up from her book with a smile. "Hey Caleb, are we still on for after school?"

"Yeah I just have to run home first." I said stopping by her. "I'll see you then." She turned her attention back to her book and continued to wait as I walked off. I didn't need to wonder who she was waiting for because he just came out of the building. I wanted to stay with her but I knew I couldn't start anything until I knew for sure what was going on. With my anger rising I hopped in my car and drove off. I took a few laps around my neighborhood before heading to Annabeths house.

I only used the excuse that I needed to go home first so that I could give Percy enough time to clear out of there before I got there. Because if he was there when I get there it's not going to be pretty. I arrived at her house just after 3:30 mostly because I was so lost in my thoughts that I was speeding all the way here. I looked up at her house unsure about how I feel, my stomach was in knots but I knew what I had to do.

I stepped out of my car and started walking towards her front door. Before I could knock I herd yelling which made me hesitant to knock.  A moment later I heard glass shatter fallowed by a yelp. My hesitation was gone and immediately started bagging on the door. The locks unlocked and the door swung open revealing a child, he let out a pound gasp as his face lit up upon seeing me.

"Are you one of Annabeths 'friends'?" He said with air quotes as he raised his eyebrow waiting for me to answer. I felt singled out as if he was asking a different question than what he intended. Then Annabeth walked over and shooed him away with a towel. "Go on, go away and help your brother clean up the mess you made." She said frowning at him before turning back to me. "I'm sorry about them, my parents went on a little get away and I promised I would watch them. But your still more than welcome to come in." She said stepping away from the door.

"Are we going to your room?" I got butterflies in my stomach when I asked, I know I asked for help with my Greek but this might actually be my chance. She's alone and Percy is no where to be found. "No, I have my stuff in the living room. Which is right through there, I'll be right back." She said pointing to the room across the way. I walked into the living room which is super clean even with her papers spread across the coffee table.  I sat down on the couch as her two brothers ran into the living room.

"So, who are you?" They questioned me with their arms crossed. I didn't have time to answer before Annabeth ran back down the stairs with a few papers in her hand . Her face became angry when she saw her brothers standing in front of me. "I thought I told you to go away!" She yelled as they took off up stairs.

"I'm sorry for them they just want to know who you are." I thought for a moment trying to understand what they meant. "What did they mean?" I asked, her face became a little pale but I could tell she brushed it off. "They wanted to know if you were from camp but they have a wired way of asking. I've told them just to ask if your from camp or not but they seem to resort back to 'are you one of Annabeths special friends'." I still didn't understand but I didn't want to push.

We sat there on the sofa going over different Greek things, it was mostly her trying to help me speak the language and explain what it was we were doing. So much time had passed that it was now dark outside. I stretched and let out a large yawn before looking at Annabeth. "So I don't know about you but I need a break, do you mind if I use your bathroom?" She stood up and stretched herself, I looked over and saw her shirt lift up above her stomach.  At first I thought I was going to see part of her perfect body but instead I saw bruises and old wounds that are not scabbed over. I nearly gasped but I didn't want her to notice that I saw her stomach.

She finished stretching and turned back to me. "Yeah, you'll have to use the upstairs bathroom because my brothers clogged this one down here." She headed off towards the kitchen but stopped in her tracks. "I almost forgot, would you like to stay for dinner? It's 7 o'clock and I don't want you to go home hungry. Oh and the bathroom is upstairs on your right."

"Yeah, sure and thanks." I got up and walked upstairs. I made a right when I got to the top of the stairs and went to go into the bathroom when I herd a very loud 'Ugh' come from the room at the end of the hall. I tried to ignore it but the curiosity got the best of me, I walked towards the sounds and pushed open the door to what I presume was Annabeths room. I lock eyes with someone laying on her bed, but a quick wave of anger washed over me as I saw who it was.

I clenched my fists as the anger arose through my body.  "What are you doing here?" My expression hardened. "What do you mean, I live here. What are you doing here?" He sat up on her bed and closed the book he was flipping through. My blood was boiling and I wasn't sure how much longer I could go on with out snapping. "I'm here because I asked for Annabeths help but you... you shouldn't be here."

His facial expression changed from confused to furious. He stood up and faced me, he was about an inch or two taller than me but I wasn't intimidated by him. His muscles tensed and his hands clenched into fists. He took a breath and and his face calmed. "What do you want?" He said with the calmest tone. I was confused at first because I thought he was playing with me but he kept a straight face. "I want you to leave Annabeth alone. She's not a toy you can play with or hurt. So I think it's best that you just leave her with me and go back to where ever you came from."

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before turning his attention back on me. "Look I'm not sure what your problem is with me but I don't like how your treating me. I've done nothing to you!" His eyes darkened but his face stayed the same. "You want to know my problem with you?" I stepped forward and pushed him backwards as I continued. "My problem with you is that you pretend to be the good guy but all you are is a lying and abusive person who doesn't care about the people around you!"

I watched as something changed in him, he snapped. His arm came up with his fist clenched and hit the wall behind me.  I turned on my heels and ran for the stairs, he was right behind me but something felt off. I grabbed my bag from the living room and ran out the door. I didn't have time to stop but all I could hear was Percy yelling  "Annabeth were are you?"  with a very scared tone in his voice.

I heard loud foot steps behind me so I started to run faster, I thought Percy was chasing me but something got me from behind. My head hit the ground and everything blurred in and out. I felt something grab my foot. Instantly whatever had a hold of me began to drag me across the side walk. I tried to kick free but I ended up rolling over, I closed my eyes as I felt a sharp pain flood through my chest. My eyes fluttered open just in time to see Percy standing over top me before every things went fuzzy.
