Maybe it was strange to be so rude to someone so popular, given the chance he could've been just as popular. But something within clay made Nick fear something within himself, Nick would never let clay get the chance to unravel that.

He was almost out, 4 months before graduation. Then he would be alone and happy, two cats, video games. It was a dream. But 4 months isn't now, he stands looking down at the floor. His friends and him all chilling around the bathroom, talking nonsense as others passed.

Nick didn't really feel like talking but of course he was summoned, "yo Nick, your quiet! What happened to you?" The once loud friend group he had was now quiet, no one daring to breath. Maybe it's because Nick always has good stories, or maybe they really care about him, either way, nick couldn't bring himself to tell them the truth.

"Nothing just tired." Though of course Luke stepped forward, looking him up and down before smirking. "I've known you better then anyone else, who pissed you off?" Nick hated Luke, hated him more then clay! Not because he was an asshole but because he was always right, Nick knew that Luke would always know the truth. "Clay was being an asshole, that's all." And just like that one by one his friends all perked up in interest, fully expecting a story.

It was like crinkling a chip bag next to a bunch of seagulls, they all turn towards you in silence. He groaned before starting his story, still trying to decide what to leave out and what to keep in. "He has the same free period as me, and I guess he found interest in the fact that I was alone." Nick hadn't thought of continuing with his story but his friends gave him death glares so he sucked it up and went on.

"He sat next to me and talked about how we both had this free period and how I seemed to have no friends." His own friends chuckled before Luke made his first comment through the story, "what a douche. " everyone nodded in agreement before Nick continued, by now he was invested in telling his own story.

"He tried to introduce himself as if I didn't know who he was so I grabbed his shirt and insulted him before walking away, I'm assuming that's the last conversation we will have." Nick finished with a blank look, his friends whispered things before it fell silent. Finally Alex spoke up with a strange look, "why didn't you act nice towards him?..." he sounded unsure.

The question shocked Nick, it's not like clay has ever messed with him or really even interact with him in general. So why was he rude? "You could've been friends with him!" Wilbur grumbled with a saddened look, almost ashamed of himself it seemed. Nick sighed and lifted himself onto the sink and swung his legs slowly and softly before speaking, "because I already have friends, plus clay is an asshole. Sure he's never insulted us directly but he still did it to others."

Luke smiled and sat next to him, Alex and Wilbur stood in front of them with the same grins. "Aweee, you love us!" Alex cooed mockingly, Nick rolled his eyes. "Never-mind, being clays friend sounds perfect." Nick chuckled as Alex glared at him, the sentence giving fake offense to all his friends.

"Maybe.. you should be nice to him..." Luke muttered lowly, everyone turned towards the blonde with a concerned face. "Well think about it! Clay has never interacted with Nick before, not even a glance towards his way. Yet now he suddenly cares? Maybe he wants something." Everyone started whispering and muttering before Nick sighed, immediately the room fell quiet. A chance of Nick and Luke fighting was rare and never seen.

"I doubt it Luke, he probably just saw me and thought I was an easy target." Luke groaned and pulled his face down with his hands before replying quickly, "no! Your not listening! He must have something!" Nick rolled his eyes, genuinely getting annoyed. "What would he have for me?! A punch in the gut? Wow! Thanks Luke! Just what I wanted!" Luke hopped off the sink and shook his head with a glare.

"No Nick! Stop being stupid!" Now it was nicks turn to stand up, pushing his finger into Luke's chest, "I'm not stupid, I'm trying not to get messed up! Do you have a crush on clay or something? Well I'm not being your stupid third wheel, AGAIN!" Jealousy was always a problem Nick suffered with and him and Luke had a very large incident last year, it hurt.

"It's always your way, never mine! I don't care about clay and I don't wanna be friends or hear what he has to say!" His friends watched as they argued, no one daring to step in and stop it. Luke grabbed nicks wrist and yanked him forward, "Your just the worst! I'm just trying to help you!" Nick yanked back his wrist and rubbed it with a frown before glaring at him and walking away with talking angrily, "I don't want your stupid help luke!"

"Why won't you let me help you Leah!?"

Nick froze at his best friends words, he knew it. "Nick, I meant Nick!" He whipped around with a glare, "don't talk to me." Nick gave his best friend the cold shoulder and walked out of the bathroom, he can't deal with this. Four months before graduation and clay has to come into his life and fuck it up!

Nick fumed as he walked around the school building, school was over in 3 hours. He rushed over to the stairs and sat on the first step, putting his head in his hands. "Hey.." Nick shot up, his eyes meeting clays.
Great. "Go away." It was cold and quiet yet clay didn't budge, instead he sat down next to Nick.
"You seem mad." Oh really? He didn't notice!

"Yeah..." Nick returned his head in his hands and rubbed his temple, his head really hurt. Clay grinned with the smug look he always has, Nick groaned and set his head in his hands. "Your not gonna leave me alone are you?" A quick giggle left clay before he shook his head, Nick sighed before looking back up at him. "Yeah I thought you wouldn't." Nick got up and started to walk out of the school, not really wanting to attend his next two periods.

Clay shook his head with a smile, following Nick as he walked outside. "Soooo, what do you like to do?" Clay asked with a small smile, he seemed so interested in Nick.  "I play video games?" A small gasp left clay and he started his long ramble on about video games. Nick sighed as they walked, "this is gonna be hard to explain..."
