When we get back to the house Kol and I hang out in my room reading books while we wait for the day to pass. Elijah comes in two hours before time to open for the ball and takes Kol to go get ready while Rebekah comes in and grabs me to go get ready with her. I smile as I sit with Rebekah while she gets her nails done. I look up and bite my lip seeing Kol in a black evening suit and the tailor starts to work on him. I walk over with a small smirk playing on my lips. "It looks good on you Kol, though I must say you've had so many years of practice but you still can't tie a bowtie to save your immortal life," I comment as I start to fix his tie. He chuckles as watches me, "Ah but, why do I need to learn when I have you by my side and you know how to do it." He says with a smile. I roll my eyes and finish tying his tie and give him a kiss on the cheek. I felt Finn's eyes on me and it made me feel slightly uncomfortable. I am pulled from my thoughts when Kol looks at Rebekah, "Rebekah, tell me how handsome I am." Rebekah rolls her eyes, "Ah Kol, you know I can't be compelled." she says. I giggle lightly and Finn smiles. I take note of how the curve of his lips are and how it reacts to his eyes, I am shaken from my hyper fixation when Klaus comes bursting into the room. "You went after Elena? What is wrong with you?!" He shouts, causing me to jump slightly Finn looks at me worried and Kol holds my hands gently, "Niklaus now is not the time." He warns but it goes unnoticed. "Do you want another dagger in your heart?" Klaus asks Rebekah who glares back at him. "Again with the dagger threats? Don't you have any other tricks?" Kol asks trying to move Klaus's attention. Klaus looks and notices me his expression softens slightly. Esther walks in, "Enough fighting Niklaus. Come." She says before giving me a gentle look. They leave and I feel my knees start to shake. Kol wraps his arms around me and I force a smile, "I'm alright it just, with my memories back I remember how he would direct that anger, and then I'd be left heartbroken." I whisper patting his shoulder gently as I go back to my room.

Rebekah walks in and I turn to face her from my spot where I was curled up in bed. "Bex, did you really threaten Elena?" I ask looking up at her. She sighs softly, "I was trying to scare her, Elijah was in love with the first lookalike before we became vampires." She explains and I nod understandingly. "You don't want history to repeat I understand," I tell her before I turn away again wiping away my tears that had fallen. "Klaus has asked to see you in the drawing-room," she says before leaving. I slowly sit up and collect myself before going to the room. I walk in timidly, he notices my slow movements and looks down. "I'm sorry Nyx, I shouldn't have let my temper get the best of me. I'm even more sorry that I scared you, I didn't realize you were in the room. I would also like to apologize for all the pain I have caused you over the years. I have always seen you as a second sister, I have constantly hurt you but you never hurt me like how I hurt you." Klaus explains to me, I walk over and hug him gently. "It's okay Nik, I'm alright," I tell him and he hugs me back. We pull back and he looks down. "I asked Caroline to the ball." He tells me, I smile and kiss his cheek. "Good, she makes you happy," I say and he chuckles. I smile and I walk back into my room and get ready for the ball.
