I jump back from where I had the guy pinned to the wall and I look at him with wide worry-filled eyes. I look into his eyes, "Kol?" I ask quietly in a whisper my voice shaking like a leaf in the wind. He smiles and walks closer to me, "Darling..." He starts as he reaches out to touch my cheek and I step back quickly. "No, he's dead. This is a cruel witch trick." I say shaking my head as tears pool in my eyes. "Nyx, please Darling let me explain." He says and I glare at him shaking my head. "Don't please," I say before speeding back to the compound. I stop cold seeing bodies littered around the entryway. "Oh no," I mumble, my eyes looking around quickly. "Nik!" I shout as I start to tear through the house.

I stop seeing Nik sitting on the ground two bodies on either side of him as he paints. I feel a small smile slowly spread across my lips. "Finally found the right color?" I ask him softly while I step over to him taking a seat beside him on the ground. He looks at me and gives me a half-hearted smile. "That is one term you could use." He says and I smile grabbing another brush and I begin to paint with him. It was peaceful and honestly something mundane that the events of tonight had me longing for. "You alright little sister, you are usually quiet." He comments breaking me from my thoughts and I look at him with a sad smile. "Just thinking about Kol," I confess quietly.  He gives me a sad smile wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me to his chest. "I swear if there is a way to bring him back we will find it, and we will bring Hope home, and at last our family will be whole again." He promises me and I look up at him nodding my head gently. "I know Nik," I say softly before turning my head to the door hearing Elijah approaching. "I'm still not at full strength. Which of the rings are unaccounted for?" Klaus asks as he returns to the painting. "Only one. I must say, the brothers fought valiantly before Ms. Guerrera escaped." Elijah explains I stand up quickly my eyes flashing dangerously as Klaus turns to Elijah and gives him a look that is both shocked and incredulous. "You let her get away!?" Klaus questions and Elijah swallows. "...Not exactly." He says and I notice Hayley is nowhere to be seen.

I sat with Klaus and Elijah as I heat up the bowl in front of me while Elijah removes the stones from the rings. "Could you not just take a sledgehammer to them?" Klaus asks and I can't help but smile. "These were forged by a witch, brother. And, as such, only the elements of fire and water can destroy them." Elijah explains as he rolls up his sleeves and gathers a pitcher of water and walks over to me. I look at Klaus and I notice the look on his face. "I'd have thought this would have brought you greater pleasure Nik." I say softly and he sighs. "As would I." He says in a depressed tone. "This was my fault. All of it." He confesses and I frown slightly. Elijah looks at him in surprise at this confession. "If I had just accepted Hayley's pregnancy instead of..." He pauses for a minute his voice breaking, "playing king... I should have listened to you, both of you Instead, my greed and my envy robbed me of my daughter. My actions led to the release of the weapon that can kill not just me, but all of us." He says and I sigh softly looking at Elijah as I fiddle with the ring that hangs from my neck. "In a thousand years, I've survived your attempts to destroy me, brother." Elijah starts before he gathers up the stones and drops them in the bowl with the flames. "I imagine I can survive this." He states causing Klaus to look at him confused. "You chase my redemption, like a man rolling a stone up an endless mountain," Klaus states as I take the pitcher from Elijah and pour water over the stones and the charcoal, destroying them both. "Well, no mountain is endless, brother. Some are just steeper than others." Elijah tells him and we all stare at the bowl in front of us. In the bowl, where the stones have broken apart, revealing small drops of Klaus' blood that were magically forged within them.

Elijah turns to Klaus with a serious expression, "As much as I would like to be the one to comfort Hayley in this moment, I believe that only you can understand her grief." He says to Klaus who looks at us lost. "We lost our child... I mean, what could I possibly say to ease her pain?" He stresses and I take his hand gently while Elijah places his hand on Klaus' shoulder and squeezes it comfortingly. "Whatever she needs to hear Nik," I tell him in a gentle tone. He looks between us and nods his head before heading back into the house. I sigh softly before taking the bowl gently in my hands. "I'll get rid of these," I tell Elijah before heading up to my room.
