Some employees saw the last secretary meeting up with Sir Santos days before her resignation. Rumors said that he forcefully made her resign out of jealousy."

Don't you just see those stuff on teledramas? Stell thought to himself, pushing his grocery cart down to the checkout aisle. After inspecting the chosen shops his boss commanded, the beta realized he was near the grocery store and so, decided to buy groceries for this week. While picking some things he needed, the man then remembered Adelaide's gossip that unfortunately was cut off because of the C.E.O. Stell isn't convinced much though. But him suddenly transferring position makes him think if it's somehow true, whereas distorted into exaggeration with the passing of rumors.

Well, it isn't important anyway. What matters is his job is done for today and now he could relax for the following weekend. Maybe cooking some new recipes he didn't manage to try due to being busy.

Plus he'll be making extra bucks with his personal agreement with the Alpha. He hasn't been paid with the weird hugging service but then again he can use it to buy some goodies for his parents. His mother did say she wants a thicker blanket. Stell will definitely buy the luxurious one.

His self-thinking made him easily distracted, resulting in not catching that it was his turn to lay the groceries.

Quickly Stell lifted them one by one on the desk and the moment he laid them all, his phone rang in his pocket. While the cashier was still settling the payment, the man quickly pulled his phone to check the caller. Seeing the name he answered instantly.

"Hello dad?" Stell called while paying the cashier and finally lifting the shopping bag to leave the building.

"Hello Tey? Have you gone home?"

"Well, I was about to. Do you need something?"

"No, but I'm requesting you to visit your mom in my stead today? The doctor called in to report your mom's current status."

The man halted himself in surprise. "Did something happen?"

"Nothing much, that's what I heard. Just the usual maybe. But I can't go today."

"Sure I'll go. Are you with Aunt Isabela today?"

Stell asked but what greeted from the other line was silence. The beta decided to call a taxi while waiting, it didn't take long for a taxi to arrive and quickly he rode in.

"Dad? Still there?" He asked.

"....Y-yeah still here."

"Okay, I'm in a taxi right now I'll call later."

"T-take care son. Bye."

The Beta ended the call and returned it inside his pocket. He then leaned his back on the seat comfortably. "To the City Hospital." Stell answered and the driver moved the vehicle.

The man noticed how his father is frequently meeting with Aunt Isabela. His dad might deny it but Stell knew that deep down the two of them felt more than friends.

He wasn't angry with this gut feeling, maybe more relieved? Relieved that at least his dad is slowly returning from grief. That includes Aunt Isabela, his mom's High school best friend. She was considered a close member of the family, a nice and considerate woman. No wonder his dad eventually became attracted to her while Mylene's presence is absent, though he doesn't blame them. Emotions are fragile and unexpected, yet..... needed. And at the worst time, Isabela and Jun needed comfort the most, a sense of loneliness that needed to be fulfilled. His mom would've probably preferred that. What she hated the most is seeing her husband cry regardless.
