It was already past eight when Justin and Adelaide left their company. As soon as they got out, Adelaide breathed in the cool breeze.
"God I'm so tired." The woman remarked and looked at Justin, who still looked fresh and neat. As if he didn't handle an enormous amount of files and papers.
"What happened to Stell by the way? Is he that sick?" She asked and the younger cackled.
"Yeah right. He's chilling in our apartment, eating a bucket of ice cream."
"What? Really? He said he was sick."
Justin shrugged. "He's just avoiding work.... For some reason?"
Adelaide frowned. "That's out of his character."
"Exactly."
"Well, I'll visit him tomorrow. Let's go samgyup? It's been a while since we had one."
She invited, wrapping her arm around Justin's bicep. The younger became startled at the sudden contact, but he quickly regained composure. Adelaide then pulled his arm.
"My treat! Come onnnn."
"Sorry Addy, I can't. I have an appointment after work. Maybe next time? It'll be my treat."
The woman pouted, slowly losing his grip on Justin, and separated. "You two have been rejecting our samgyup night lately. Is everything okay?"
Justin smiled kindly. "Of course."
"Really?"
"Yes!" The man replied and rested his hands both on Adelaide's shoulders. "I'll make it up to you tomorrow! How about we take out and eat in our apartment after work? It's been a while since you visited right?"
Adelaide tilted her head. "Well, sure. I'll see you guys then."
"Great! Let me grab you a taxi before I leave."
Justin quickly stopped a taxi on the road and invited the female omega to get inside the vehicle. The man then instructed the driver of his friend's address and gave the fare in advance.
The two bid farewell to each other and the young alpha watched the taxi run away until it was no longer in his sight.
He heaved a deep breath, and quickly turned around in the opposite direction. Their meeting place wasn't too far from the company.
He walked in a fast-paced, constantly checking his silver wristwatch to see the time. His body then turned to the right side of the street and into an almost soulless alley. He walked further, until seeing the dimly lit convenience store. It was the only light in the avenue, and so he entered the store, pushing the glass door open.
"Took you long enough" Said a female voice with dismay in its tone. Justin quickly looked for the voice, only to see her at one of the store's small tables near the glass window.
On the woman's table was instant ramen and a plastic fork submerged inside the half-empty cup of noodles; The alpha assumed she's been waiting for a while. He then took a seat in front of her.
"Sorry, I had to entertain someone."
"Yeah yeah, shall we start then?"
Justin looked in doubt. "You sure this is a safe place?"
The woman nodded. "Relax, we're not in the movies where a random guy is spying on us."
Those words didn't ease the man. Nonetheless, he believed. "So.... Marian right?"
She frowned. "Mariah." (a/n: Name sounds familiar? hm? ;) )
"Mariah right! Sorry, I always forget haha."
