"What?"

Josh stopped himself from browsing his iPad the moment hearing Paulo's answer. He heard a name, a name he haven't attended in a while. Small flashes of memories appeared in his thoughts, reminding him who that person is.

"Sir Suson's secretary is related to Mylene Ajero." The delta repeated as he slides the folder on the older's working table. The omega then took it and scanned the papers one by one. It's full of Stell's information, from his resume down to his personal details. Including pictures, he has online with family and friends.

Josh's eyes narrowed the more he kept reading it.

"He's an only child. Ajero got the job in Superior.Son last six years ago and until three years of working under the executive vice, he was moved to work at the C.E.O instead after...... *ehem* after the last secretary's resignation."

The older glared at his assistant. He was sure that cough was a mocking one (Maybe because of the consistent rumor about him), but Paulo's face remained expressionless. Nonetheless, he ignored him. It's been a while since he last heard news about that secretary, she is quiet, fortunately. He really did plan on making that female beta retire, after seeing how she acts 'too' close to his mate. But to his surprise, she left on her own. Josh thought that his assistant did something yet the younger denied it. Though, he wasn't dumb enough to not hear blames of rumors thrown at him.

"Does Felip knows?"

"It's possible. Based on the beta's educational background, it's unlikely for him to be accepted at the company. I heard that he was also referred."

"More like he took that beta in. God, that Alpha didn't tell me."

Josh whined as he let go of the folder. He leaned back on his swivel chair. "Where is she? Mylene."

"City Hospital." Paulo muttered, almost a whisper. Half of himself didn't want to tell to his boss, but loyalty is his job, the delta couldn't do anything about it. He then saw the omega's look at him in shock, bending forward to listen more.

"She's sick? Since when?"

"She logged in the hospital a year ago. But seems to have medical check-ups even before in their hometown province. Until they moved here in this city."

A moment of astonishment on the older's face. His brows furrowed in bewilderment until he looked down. There was nothing to look at in his sight, he felt he just had to. To think about the knowledge and decide what he needs to do. He saw his left hand resting on his lap and played his fingers by tapping them as if playing the piano. A habit he grew when felt uneasy.

"Is it severe?" He asked and Paulo nodded. "Brain tumor, she has trouble distinguishing people as a result."

Josh formed his hand into a grip. A small regret emerged in the deepest part of his emotions. Yet he didn't want to be vulnerable.

Not now.

Not while his mother is here. Veronica could easily find out.

The omega took a deep sigh before looking up to see the delta.

"Should I see her?"

Paulo was silent. Thinking an appropriate answer, but he himself is undecided. He could only ask back. "Can you sir?"

"Do you think she'll recognize me?" Josh ask again while the younger could only shrug his shoulders.

"If she did, I wouldn't think she'll be mad at you. It's been years sir, she could've forgiven you already. After all, Mylene was always nice and caring. Even before she could only smile at you back then."
