It's been... a rough year. A lot has happened. 6 months ago... our Uncle Ben was murdered. It was our fault-my fault. Aunt May doesn't talk about him much anymore, we've all moved on. But that's not the only thing that has happened to me, or at least not to me and my brother.
About a week before Uncle Ben died, me and Pete had gone through changes. NO, not that kind of changes, but it was weird. We were bitten by some kind of spider and got powers! It was cool and all, but being a superhero and having powers were one of the last things we needed to worry about. When we got these powers, the first thing we waned to do was tell people, but we couldn't. It would put all of them in danger.
During one of my visits to Wanda in their new base of operations, she found out. Let's just say, she wasn't very happy. She's the only one that knows about our secret. No-one else can know.
Every time me and my brother go out and be heroes, Mr. Stark's words appear in my head, "don't try to be a hero, because then, innocent people will get hurt." Believe me, I wanted to listen, but I couldn't. As long as nobody knows, everything will be alright, me and Peter can continue on being the heroes of Queens. Peter being the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! And me being, the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-X!
Lagos, Present day,
Wanda was sitting in a café, drinking her coffee. The reason they were in Lagos? They gained information that Rumlow, AKA Crossbones, will be stealing a gas nuclear weapon. She stirred her coffee as Cap spoke on the comms, "All right, what do you see?"
Wanda turned around to see then looked back at her drink, "Standard beat cops. Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target." she informed him.
Cap was in a nearby building, watching from a window, "There's an ATM on the south corner, which means?" he asked her.
"Cameras." she answered, keeping her head down.
"Both cross streets are one-way." he noted.
"So, compromised escape routes." she answered again. They've been teaching Wanda how to work as an Avenger and to be aware of her surroundings.
"Means our guy doesn't care about being seen. He isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?" he asked Wanda. Newspapers of Crossbones' attacks were on the newspapers.
"Yeah, the red one? It's cute." she joked, taking a sip of her drink.
"It's also bulletproof, which means private security... which means more guns... which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us." Natasha spoke in the comms. She sat a few tables away from her, having glasses on so nobody could recognize her. She took a sip of her drink.
"You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" Wanda jokingly asked as she also took a sip of her drink.
"Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature." she told her, looking over Wanda's shoulder. Wanda looked back at her as well.
"Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" Sam also spoke on the comms as he walked on top of a nearby building. He walked over to the ledge and looked at the red Range Rover.
"Not to my face. Why? Did you hear something?" Nat joked back.
"Eyes on target, folks. This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him." Cap ordered his team.
