New Friends

Chapter two

Your POV

As I was driving to work my head started to hurt. I had a massive headache in the back of my head. Why is my head starting to hurt now? I fell less than 30 minutes ago! I pulled over onto the side of the street to text my boss that I wasn't feeling well and that I couldn't come to work. I would have been an hour late anyway. Then I texted my friends Ella and Zara and asked them if they could come and pick me up and drive my car to my apartment with me.

They gladly came and drove me to my apartment where I laid down. They both sat down in some chairs in my living room watching tv while I fell asleep on my couch.

(Two hours later)
I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the time when I saw a text from Tom. Why was he texting me? I opened my phone and went into the message. "Hey love just wanted to make sure you got to work and are feeling okay." Wow, he is kinda sweet when he isn't spilling tea on me and giving me a headache. I smiled at my phone real big not realizing my friends were still there.

"Ooh who is it a new boyfriend?" Zara said with a huge smirk. "Yeah is he cute?" Ella asked while framing her face with a grin. "Stop it you guys! It's just the guy who's the reason why my head hurts and my back aches. He just wants to know how I'm feeling." I say looking down at my foot while I rub it trying to think of what to text back. "You have his number?" Zara looked at me with a surprised expression. "Oh, yeah he gave it to me earlier cause he felt bad and wanted to make sure I was okay. It's nothing really." I say pulling a strand of my hair behind my ear.

The room became quiet as they both unpaused the movie they were watching and as I figured out what to text back. "I'm okay, I didn't get to work though cause my head started to hurt a lot but I'll be fine, thanks for asking!" I hit send and locked my phone as I laid back down only to feel a buzz on my leg two minutes later. I picked my phone up and looked at the text Tom sent me. "I'm so sorry, I hope you feel better." That's nice of him to say I guess. I mean he could have said something more considering he's the one who pushed me with the door. I was still recovering from it to! I looked at my friends who were just finishing the movie and now putting blankets away. "Hey thanks so much you guys for hanging around to make sure I'm okay but I think I'm gonna kick y'all out so I can go to sleep now!" As I slowly got up from the couch I grabbed my blanket and walked over to my bedroom as I said good bye to Ella and Zara. "Alright let me know how your new guy friend is tomorrow after you wake up! Ella yelled over at me as her and Zara walked out the door leaving me with no chance to respond.

I curled up into a small ball of a human on my bed as I fell asleep for a few more hours.

Tom's POV

I looked at my phone for the tenth time at y/n's text to me. If only I hadn't been so careless to push open that door, this lovely girl wouldn't be home from work with a headache and a weak back. She must not like me. How am I ever gonna tell her that I picked up a note she dropped and read it! I have to tell her but I don't wanna ruin any possible chance of becoming her friend. She is just a random girl I happen to run into and get her number but as soon as we locked eyes for the first time i felt something click inside of me that I have never felt before. Like something just sort of connected between the two of us.

I mean the note was open and facing upward on the ground when I picked it up so maybe she won't hate me for it?! I finally started to move my thumbs up and down my keyboard on my phone to form words that I quickly deleted. Ugh how do I not sound creepy? Then I wrote, "hey, as I saw you leave I saw a note fall out of your bag and I picked it up. It was completely exposed and it looks important so I'm assuming you want it back? Let me know if there's a place I could meet you to give it to you." ...sent...
Oh my gosh. What if that was to much! I have to stop worrying, I can't sleep like this tonight.

(One hour later)

"Hey, thanks Tom, I didn't even notice it was gone until I looked in my bag after your text! How about we meet at the coffee shop tomorrow morning around 9?" YES she finally texted me back and it doesn't seem like I scared her off! "Yeah sure that works great! See you then!" I joyfully text her back as I am smiling ear to ear while my mate Haz walks in. "Hey man, what's up with you?" Haz raises his eyebrows while staring me down, or at least it feels like he's staring. "Oh nothing I just kind of made a new friend with the girl I pushed over today!" That sounded better in my head.

"Oh yeah, cause that's perfectly normal!" Haz walks out of the room while shaking his head from side to side in sass. I walk towards him as we part ways to our bedrooms to go to sleep. I can't wait to see her. Then maybe I'll get a closer look at her to see if I didn't imagine that click in my head. That connection.

Your POV

"Yeah sure that works great! See you then!" I read his text for the third time. Why am I reading this again? I barely know the guy and now we are going on a breakfast date? Well, it's not a date but we are still meeting each other for coffee. I can't believe out of all the things I could have dropped I dropped a note from Drew and Tom might have read it!!🤯 😱 Oh no how am I gonna talk to this man tomorrow morning! I mean what am I gonna say! Why am I nervous? Idk I gotta go to bed. I can't though, my mind is racing with thoughts!

I walk over to my couch and turn on my favorite movie y/f/m. This always helps me calm down and I already know what happens so I'll easily fall asleep! Sweet dreams to me!
