New Friends

Chapter four

Tom's POV

I looked over at y/n and saw that she was pinching her arm real hard. I was driving her to the emergency room cause of her back and how much pain I knew she was in. I could tell by how she barely moved and barely looked at me that she was in a lot of pain, but I didn't know how much. I only met this girl yesterday and now I'm driving her in her car to the hospital? I caught her peaking at me. "Y/n I'm sorry about all this, it is all my fault that you're in all this pain." I pointed to her finger nail dug into the skin on her other wrist. "And you shouldn't be making more for yourself, love what are you doing?" I asked with a worried tone.

"Uh.. well whenever I'm in any kind of pain I guess I just tend to dig my nails into my arm to distract me." She quickly looked away out the window as she pulled her jacket sleeve up over her wrist. "Y/n you shouldn't do that, it's just gonna make things worse!" I say in a kind tone so that I don't sound bossy. Oh gosh I hope she isn't gonna hate me for this. "I know." She whispers not even looking my way. Oh my gosh what am I doing? I am worried about a girl I don't even know and I am just hoping that her back isn't seriously injured.

Your POV

Tom is being so sweet! He keeps glancing my way to see if I'm okay while he drives me to the hospital. I'm not sure if it is necessary to go to the emergency room but I'm also not sure what's wrong with me so it is probably more safe that I do go. I try to hide my pain from him, but he sees right through me. I'm pretty sure it's my dang eyes, they just have to tell him what is really going on! So the rest of the car ride there I just keep looking out the window not saying a single word. Eventually we arrive and he parks in the closest spot possible.

He gets out of the car and goes around to my door and opens it, while he waits for me to get out. I unbuckle myself and start to move my legs out of the car while holding onto the door. He holds out his hands for me to grab onto. I looked up into his chocolate brown eyes as he smiled sweetly. "Come on darling, I've got you, you'll be okay I promise." His hands were now moving closer to me. I let my grip on the door loose and slowly put my hands in his.

They felt warm and soft, yet strong and kind. He helped me lift up into a standing position as he supported my first few steps away from the car. He let go of one of my hands to shut the car door and then he hesitantly put his arm underneath mine onto my waist letting go of my other hand in the process. We walked like this into the hospital until we met a nurse. "Hello Ms? um she needs to be seem right away, she is in a lot of pain and is having a hard time walking." He glances at me indicating that I am the "She" he is talking about. The nurse looks me up and down. "Ok and what is your name Ms and where are you in pain?" She questions. "My name is y/n y/l/n and my back is hurting a lot." I say glancing between her and Tom. "Alright follow me." She starts walking down the hall.

"Uh Ms, I said she was having a hard time walking could you maybe Uh bring a wheel chair over here please?" He looks at her like she was dumb and he knew better for me. I giggled a little under my breath cause, he showed her. The nurse was slightly annoyed but she went and quickly got one. He didn't let go of my waist until I was safely in the chair. Then he wheeled me into the room the nurse lead us into. He helped me onto the bed. "Umm I'm gonna wait out there until you're done." He pointed to the door and then walked out of it.

The nurse asked me some questions about my back and how I fell. Then the doctor soon came in and I had to tell her the same thing. Thank goodness it was a woman doctor and not a male cause eventually they were gonna have to take a look at my back. The nurse already had me change into a hospital gown which was painful and a little hard. Eventually after asking me what seemed like to many questions she finally came behind me and unbuttoned my gown sending chills down my spine. She got to the last one and stretched the fabric a little. "Oh um well no wonder your in pain!" She ran her finger gently over the middle of my lower back. "Well I can't tell if anything is wrong in the inside but you have a big black and blue bruise on the lower part of your back surrounding your spine. I would like to do an MRI right away to see if you have any nerves or muscles that are damaged. In the mean time you need to ice this." She buttoned the top buttons leaving room for an ice pack on the bottom. She went into another room to get an ice pack and then came back and gave it to me.

"You are gonna have to wait about an hour to get your MRI and a day for the results. I will come back when the machine is ready for you." She smiled and then left the room as Tom came in a minute later. The back of my gown was still open just enough to see my bruise and I didn't put the ice on it yet. I was turned slightly to the side. "Oh my.. what.. y/n your back is covered in a huge bruise!" His face was shocked and he slowly backed away while looking at my bruise. I quickly turned my body away from him cause I felt uncomfortable with him looking at it. I turned a little to quickly, it kinda hurt. " oww.. Thanks like I didn't know that already. The doctor said I'm gonna need an MRI to check and see any damage done cause she doesn't think it is anything major like a bone of some sort." I looked at him worried. "Oh no love, are you okay?" His expression became sad. "Yeah I'll be fine just have one of your friends pick you up or something cause I don't want you to be waiting with me." I said while trying to put the ice on my back.

Tom's POV

She seemed kind of worried and a little sad. She was trying to put some ice on her bruise but couldn't seem to find it. I took the ice from her hand and she looked up at me with the most gentle expression in her eyes. "Here let me do it." I said while slowly putting the ice to her bare skin. "Thank you." She sighed slightly shivering. "Ok here hold it." I took her hand in mine and gently placed it on top of the ice pack. "I'll have my mate Harrison pick me up just let me know when you're done and I'll come get you." I stepped back to look at her. "Oh no I can have my friends pick me up if I can't drive, but thanks!" She turned slightly to look at me then leaned herself against the back of the bed. I felt bad leaving her by herself waiting to see what's wrong with her back while she was in God only knows how much pain but I just met her yesterday and didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. "Okay, then just text me when you're done." I started to walk towards the door. She stopped me with her beautiful voice. "I will, thank you for everything, you were so kind and I hope you enjoy your day!" She smiled and waved goodbye. "Oh it was no problem love, thank you, and I hope you have a good day as well hopefully with good news!" I waved goodbye and smiled before walking out the door of the room. Oh my Gosh I hope she'll be alright. I made sure to put all her stuff including her car keys on the chair next to the bed she's currently sitting on. I just hope she can get home safely.
