Author POV

Everyone is gathered together to discuss the Accords. Peter is sitting opposite of Steve, while Wanda and Vision sit on a small comforter to his left while Natasha's is to his right with Tony laying down, and Rhodey and Sam behind Steve.

"Secretary Ross has a Congressional Medal of Honor, which is one more than you have." Rhodey says.

"So let's say we agree to this thing. How long is it gonna be before they LoJack us like a bunch of common criminals?"

"117 countries want to sign this. 117, Sam, and you're just like, 'No, that's cool. We got it'."

"How long are you going to play both sides?", asks Sam.

Peter isn't really paying attention to Rhodey's and Sam's argument, still trying to figure out what he should do in this situation.

"I have an equation." Vision says.

"Oh, this will clear it up." Sam says.

"In the eight years since Mr. Stark announced himself as Iron Man, the number of known enhanced persons has grown exponentially. And during the same period, the number of potentially world-ending events has risen at a commensurate rate."

Peter just looks at Vision as he talks, wanting to hear his explanation of the situation. "Are you saying it's our fault?" Steve asks.

"I'm saying there may be a causality. Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge incites conflict. And conflict... breeds catastrophe."

"Oversight... oversight is not an idea that can be dismissed out of hand."

"Boom." Rhodey says.

Peter looks at table with The Sokovia Accords, then looks at Natasha, who is looking at him, then turns to Tony, "Tony. You are being uncharacteristically non-hyper-verbal." Natasha says.

"It's because he's already made up his mind." Steve says.

"Boy, you know me so well. Actually, I'm nursing an electromagnetic headache." Tony says.

Peter looks at all around the room, not wanting to join this discussion, hoping he's over looked, especially with this decision, he wants to choose his own reason to do what he wants to do.

"Tony walks into the kitchen. "That's what's going on, Cap. It's just pain. It's discomfort. Who's putting coffee grounds in the disposal? Am I running a bed and breakfast for a biker gang?"

Peter look at Tony as he grabs his phone and put it on the table.

He shows them a picture. "Oh, that's Charles Spencer, by the way. He's a great kid. Computer engineering degree, 3.6 GPA."

"Had a floor level gig at Intel planned for the fall. But first, he wanted to put a few miles on his soul, before he parked it behind a desk. See the world. Maybe be of service."

Charlie didn't want to go to Vegas or Fort Lauderdale, which is what I would do. He didn't go to Paris or Amsterdam, which sounds fun. He decided to spend his summer building sustainable housing for the poor. Guess where, Sokovia."

Peter remembers hearing about what happened in Sokovia, and was in disbelief at all the destruction, he feels sympathy for the people who died, and their families who mourned them.

"There's no decision-making process here. We need to be put in check! Whatever form that takes, I'm game. If we can't accept limitations, if we're boundary-less, we're no better than the bad guys."

Tony, someone dies on your watch, you don't give up." Steve says.

"Who said we're giving up?"

"We are if we're not taking responsibility for our actions. This document just shifts the blames."

Natasha knows she wants to keep the team together, and it doesn't matter how that works out, she just wants the team to stay together.

Peter starts to ignore the rest of the conversation, not wanting to hear the rest and just closes his eyes, 'with what happened with Dr. Connors, I'm not sure what to do', he says.

2 minutes pass when Peter opens his eyes again and sees Steve looking at his phone, but he senses something wrong, as Steve's face turns that to one if sadness and sorrow, "I have to go", he says, as he gets up and leaves.
