The Next Da

Steve assembled Sam, Natasha and Peter for the details of the mission,  "welcome, let's get to business... Peter this is your first mission and it's a big one, someone has been breaking into trucks that belong to Damage Control... and unfortunately they've been taking Chitari tech, and they believe they'll strike again", says Steve, "Chitari tech, that's not good, they could make weapons out after all that was cleaned by them after the Batlle".

Peter remembers that Batlle from 3 years ago, "and whoever is stealing them must have some kind of experience in this kind of stuff", "right, in 3 days they're moving more tech to a more secure location in D.C and they want us to help capture who's been stealing the tech they have and protect the trucks, and they've given us a picture of who or what has been stealing from them".

A picture of a guy in a green suit with a mask and giant wings is shown, "those wings give Sam's a run for their money, no offense", "none taken, and we gotta assume that those wings are Chitari tech as well", "which means they won't be easy to destroy", say Peter, Sam and Natasha, "we know only Chitari tech can destroy Chitari tech, and they must know that", "which makes them making the weapons and those wings possible", says Peter".

"In 3 days, we start the mission, but we leave in 2 days to stakeout the location and the route they are taking and we make a plan", says Steve, but Peter just looks at the picture and wonders who that is. "Alright, now that that is out of the way, we're dismissed", says Steve, as everyone leaves, but Natasha and Peter go to the common room and find Wanda and Vision talking, "so, what's this mission about, any hints, if anything at all?", "you'll find out when it's done", says Natasha.

Peter blushes when he smiles at Wanda and she does the same, both knowing the fact they're in love with each other. Natasha notices something between them and feels this feeling of jealousy, and frowns. She admits she thought that love was for children, but now she doesn't know anymore, and hasn't known since she started falling for Peter.

Natasha sees Peter as more than a kid, he acts more mature for his age, she sees him as a young man coming into who he's gonna be in the future, and it seems now Wanda see's that as well.

An Hour Later

Peter is in his room and is nervous for his first mission, 'what if I screw up and let him get away with more tech, the others will hate me and kick me off the team', he thinks. He is scared he will let the team down and he doesn't wanna do that, not when he feels like they trust him with a mission like this, but he's nervous, and he thinks rightfully so.

After a few minutes of thinking too hard, he decides to go see Natasha and have a talk with her. He heads down to her room and knocks, "hey Nat, it's me Pete", "c'mon in Pete, I'm just reading a book", she says.

He walks in as she looks at him, "het Nat, I need to talk about something", "is something wrong?", "well, I'm just nervous about the mission", "dont worry, me, Sam and Steve are gonna be there to help you, trust us, you're gonna do fine".

She says with a smile, "but what if I mess up? I feel like you guys will hate me for that", says Peter, "I won't, and the others won't either, we all like you Peter, everyone makes mistakes, there is no such thing as perfect", she says, in a calm soothing voice, as she holds his hand.

Peter holds her hand as well, "well, yeah you're right, perfect is just a word"  "exactly, I mean, we've both made mistakes in our lives, but I feel like I can move past them as time goes by". They both look into each others eyes and just smile, Peter see's how much Natasha thinks of Peter, and is feeling better, "like you, you made a psychotic lizard man that wanted to evolve all of New York into giant lizards, remember Pete?", Nat says in a teasing manner.

Peter just smiles and remembers everything that happened with Dr. Connors, "yeah, I remember, thanks for that". Natasha laughs, "I'm sorry, but hey, you're feeling better aren't you?", she asks, "... yeah, I am, I can do this, I just need to have confidence in myself", "thats right, and your gonna do fine", Nat says.

Peter and Natasha look into each others eyes again and just stare for a long period of time, before Peter gains his composure, "... you have beautiful green eyes", he says. Natasha smiles and starts blushing, "thanks Pete, I like your brown eyes", she says, which makes him smile.

Peter and Natasha stare into each others eyes for a few more moments before they start to get closer, and right when they're about to close the gap, a knock is at the door, which makes them both separate quickly, "umm, who is it?", "it's me Tony, I was wondering if you could help me in the lab Pete, I need help with a project and this is right up your expertise, if your not busy of course".

Both Peter and Natasha get up and open the door, "no, me and Pete were just talking, he was nervous about his first mission", "was he? You're gonna do great Pete, that I know", "thanks Tony, and yeah, I'm free, thanks for the talk Natasha". Peter looks at Natasha, both still blushing madly, "of course, Im glad I could help", she says before walking towards her room. As Peter leaves towards the lab with Tony, Natasha looks back and smiles as she walks in her room.

She closes the door and reminisces about how she almost kisses Peter, she would have if Tony didn't bother them. But she almost kissed Peter, and Peter almost kissed her back, that she knew was gonna happen, but it didn't.
