Sorry I haven't updated in so long, lol. Here's the story chap now!

Annabeth

Sophie was currently studying a large book instead of working on the natural wind-chimes that were the day's craft. Every time Annabeth looked towards the corner she was sitting in, Sophie had one of a few faces ranging from frustration to curiosity.

After lunch, Annabeth asked Sophie why she had dived back into studying, only receiving a quick "I got an idea!" before the other blonde began reading again, marking things down in a little notebook.

If Annabeth didn't know any better, she'd think Sophie was one of her half siblings. However, the other girl had effectively piqued Annabeth's curiosity.

Time to play the trump card.

Annabeth paid attention to a lot of things. She knew just how effectively Sophie's boyfriends could get her to relax (and get information from her). She was banking on the second one to work in her favour this time.

"Annabeth! What's up?"

"Hey Keefe, hey Tam. I think Sophie's getting a little too consumed in her research again, I haven't seen her drink any water in at least a few hours."

Tam nodded in thanks and then walked off, presumably to go get Sophie to drink water. Keefe, on the other hand, stayed to ask Annabeth a few questions.

"Did she say anything about what she's doing this time?"

"All she told me was that she 'had an idea'. Even if she does, she shouldn't be going without taking care of herself!"

"Hypocritical of you to say that, Annabeth." Nat said from behind, wrapping Annabeth in a hug. She turned to meet her girlfriend, prompting Keefe to salute briefly before jogging off towards where Tam and Sophie were. Before he was out of talking distance, he called back "Talk to you later, lovebirds!"

Will

Sophie walked out of the girl's den that morning in full daytime clothes, with dark circles under her eyes and a triumphant smile on her face. Slamming the books she was holding onto the desk, she opened one of them before looking up at the group.

"I found it!"

"Found... what?" Amy asked, confusion written on her face.

"How we can save the camp!"

Those words had everyone gathering closer around her, trying to get a look at the journal.

"I'll summarise what I found for you. 'If there is discovered on a (natural) plot of land (the government wishes to seize and clear) a species rare, endangered or new, the land can be declared as a natural treasure.' Basically, what it means is if we can prove that the camp is a vital home to the animals here, it can be declared as protected land."

Annabeth nodded, looking relieved. "That should work- I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner."

Sadie and Leo looked at each other, before the former asked "So... how can we start to do that?"

Tam was the one to answer this time. "Stuff goes extinct pretty often, and elves save almost all of it. We can pick a few recently endangered species that will thrive here from the sanctuary with the help of the Council, then go from there. Introduce just enough that the ecosystem doesn't go too crazy, maybe consult an elvin naturalist, and we should be good to go."

It was more than Will had heard from Tam before in one sitting, but it fit his personality. The shady ones, as he had learned, could be absolute softies when it came to nature or people they love.

As suspected, Tam immediately moved over to wrap Sophie in his arms, picking her up and cuddling her like Percy cuddled his Nemo plushie. Amy snickered, holding up a camera and clicking another photo for the Kamphie album Will had seen the girls working on.

Will smiled, pulling Percy and Nico into a hug. Neither struggled, despite Percy being squashed between him and Nico. Gods, he was so happy. Everyone was safe, they were all together, and they had a plan to save the camp.

Knock on wood that it lasts.

Will reached over and knocked on the tree again, just to make sure the fates saw it.
