Alex
Alex was having the time of her frickin' life in the front of the brachiosaurus costume, dragging Magnus around behind her as she interacted with the little dino-crazy children who Sophie had been teaching about fossils and other fun facts for the past two hours.
Okay, maybe she was just the tiniest bit tired, but surprisingly kids were more tolerable when she was inside a suit instead of being actually touched by sticky little kid hands. Still, Alex was glad when the counselor of the kids had told them to gather for one last picture with the dinosaurs before leaving.
Once the kids were gone, they immediately began to take the dinosaur suits off, enjoying the freedom of not being burdened by the extra clothes. Alex had been sweating in her tank top for a while.
Tam clapped his hands, the tension bleeding from his shoulders. "Dino suit people, go get water. Let's break everything down so we can head to dinner somewhat early then get our showers."
As soon as Tam stopped speaking, several conversations sparked up. Everyone scattered, some picking up the dinosaur costumes so Sadie could return them to their homes while others drank water or helped pick up the dino related activities.
Alex snorted as she watched Magnus trip over a root and land on Leo, choking and snorting on the water that went up her nose. After receiving a few good thumps on the back from Jaz, she was able to straighten up again and continue with her day as if she hadn't just basically almost died.
So, as soon as she was done with taking a new gulp of water she stood to help Carter with the folding table he was wrestling. At this moment, Alex had no idea how he had defeated any of his giant evil Egyptian deities. Then again, being in battle with something that wanted to kill you is very different from battling furniture.
Keefe
Keefe looked around the tree carefully, caution in every muscle. They were vicious, wild little things, and he had to be careful not to so much as breathe too loud so they wouldn't get him like they got Magnus.
The haunting sounds as he was dragged away by them still echoed in his ears. One by one, they were being picked off, and now he had to find the people he had been separated from before they were all overcome.
A low throaty sound sent chills down his spine, and he ran faster in a desperate bid to get to the meeting place and hopefully backup. If they got him now, he would never come back. His team would send someone after him, and then one by one they would pick everyone off. There would be nothing stopping them from continuing their reign of terror.
He ran into something, something alive, and immediately grasped the foam pool noodle that was his only weapon in these dark times. His eyes focused onto the person's face, only to choke in relief when he saw it was Nico. Finally, someone who would be able to have his back.
When Nico spoke, it was in hushed tones. "Gods, I'm glad I found you. Everyone else is at the base by now, they sent me to make sure you were safe."
"I'm glad you're here, I think I heard one of them near me, we should go."
Nico nodded in response, leading him through the trees towards the base. Both of them were on high alert, knowing that they didn't care if they attacked one person or two. All they could do was continue to try and survive this new nightmare.
:D and yes, the Keefe part is in fact related to this plot. It's a thing >:DDDDDDD
