I'm trying to finish at least this story, if not also my other work in progress, over the next week or three so that it's finished before I go off to another no-tech week and I can start new stories when I come back (yay!)

Anyways, have a new chapter and sorry for the wait!

Sadie

There was already chatter about the new owls only days after the release. Sadie had overheard the bird-obsessed counselor gushing about finding a feather to her girlfriend at lunch, taking a moment to pump her fist in victory.

Hearing a group of children chattering about making new furniture for the fairy house left Sadie feeling on top of the world. Yeah, she had a heart. If you told her brother, she would stab you and deny it, but she felt really good when something she did made children smile.

Enough with being mushy, it was time to throw hatchets. None of the counselors were officially certified, so a cheery groundsman named Mac was teaching the group at large how to throw the blades.

The process seemed simple enough to Sadie, but there was more to it than she expected. From the proper position to the various verbal cues given, it was clear that the camp did not want the paperwork that came with any incidents that could happen.

She didn't blame them, she'd seen the paperwork that came with being the overlord of the dead, and Sadie assumed that it got quite a bit trickier when you weren't an absolute authority and had to explain what happened to the children under your care.

Which was why she would never be a counselor. Maybe a professional hatchet thrower, because oh my gods this was the funnest thing Sadie had done in quite a while, but never dealing with snotty, bratty children.

Turning her attention back to the sharp object in her hands, Sadie threw her last hatchet, watching as it hit the target and sunk deep with a satisfying thwack.

Yup, she loved hatchet throwing.

Serendipity

The visions had calmed down now that the owls had been released, which convinced Ren that either the camp's demise had been sealed, or it had been saved. Hopefully the latter.

She was floating on the water near the falls, her head resting on the ice-cream shaped float as she thought.

Meanwhile, there was a chicken fight going on between Magnus, Alex, Sadie and Walt, who had left for an internship over the past few weeks. Luckily, he was now back to help watch over Sadie and make sure her chaos had less impact.

Sophie was laying at the bottom of the lake with Percy, while their respective boyfriends watched them carefully from the corners of their eyes for any signs of drowning, focusing less attention on playing with the beach ball they were tossing around.

Annabeth was reading a book on a little umbrella float nearby, ignoring the various water-based competitions that Nat and Honor were judging behind her.

They had all decided on another relaxing water day, so they had packed up the necessary stuff and hiked over. Owliver had followed, choosing to bed down on a towel in the shade and watch over their stuff.

Yeah, nobody had been able to convince him to leave Sophie's side, the owl ever going so far as to sleep on a little stick perch inside the girls' den before they had given in and made him his own nest.

Soon enough, her mind wandered to other subjects as she floated aimlessly, enjoying the lazy summer afternoon.

I would havve added hatchet throwing instructions based on my own experiences, but I don't want to accidentally misinform anyone and cause somebody to get hurt trusting me then get sued -_-;

Another camp related thing- should I make a few chapters in my random book based on camp songs I've heard: the good, the weird, and the ugly?
