The noise has faded from outside and dark will be here soon, I'm assuming they'll leave us alone until at least tomorrow. I embrace Maggie quickly, we're both happy but scared at the same time. I also hug Glenn, Sasha, and Bob. The others we introduce and I come to learn the ginger is Abraham, Tara is the dark haired woman from the governor's group, Rosita has dark hair and her hair is in pigtails under her hat, and lastly Eugene is a scientist that knows how to save the world. Yeah right.
"We need to get ready for whenever they come for us," Maggie talks in a low voice.
"How do we do that?" Sasha questions. I reach down into my boot and pull out my pocket knife.
"We make weapons," I talk lowly as well.
"This thing is made out of wood, we can do this," Rick nods. I pass my knife off to the man to get started and Rick pulls out Glenn's pocket watch to use that to saw away at the wood as well. I have my knife, so I'm not too worried about my protection right now. Daryl is sitting in the corner of the car, his knees bent and his head staring at his hands. I sit down beside him and we don't speak for a few seconds.
"Do you think we can do this? We can make it out of here?" I question quietly while the others work.
"Have to," he grumbles.
"I can't lose anyone else, Daryl," I shake my head, looking at the others. We're family, Maggie is like my sister and Carl is like my nephew. Michonne is my sister and best friend in one. Daryl is whatever he is to me. I just know I couldn't do this without them.
"You can," he replies quietly. I shake my head in protest.
"No, not without them. I can't do this without them," I shutter and almost bark at him.
"Ya can and ya will," he pauses. "We're all gonna be gone someday."
"Stop it."
"Nah, it's true," he grunts.
"They have to make it," I sigh and lean back against the wall. If they don't make it, neither will I.
"You're tougher than ya think," he grumbles and doesn't look at me.
"Doesn't feel like it," he doesn't say anything else and neither do I. Having him beside me makes me feel safe, I'd rather be here with him than by myself somewhere.
I close my eyes and allow myself to drift off to sleep, no use in staying up all night when Rick and Daryl both will. We'll see what happens in the morning.

When the sun came up we all got to work again, I used Rosita's idea and took my belt off, breaking it into three spikes and putting them in between my fingers, wrapping the leather of the belt around my wrist. In my other hand I have my pocket knife.
"Alright, we got four of them pricks coming our way," Daryl announces while peering through the crack in the door.
"You all know what to do, go for their eyes first, then their throats," Rick rushes over to Daryl's side by the door.
"Put your backs to the wall at either end of the cart! Now!" A man yells from outside. Rick nods and looks around at all of us. A door slides open but it's on top of the cart and light comes flooding in. Then drops a can, and we all look around for a mere second.
"Move!" Abraham yells and we all throw ourselves toward the walls of the car as it explodes and gas erupts into the air. The door is thrown open and men come in, grabbing at people. The door is shut and latched, leaving some smoke left in the car and we cough as it subsides and we look around desperately. Daryl, Rick, Glenn, and Bob are gone.
