Once upon a time there was a small kingdom in the middle of nowhere. It was so small and so... well, in the middle of literally nowhere, that even if I tried to describe, I'm pretty sure you've never heard about it. This kingdom was ruled by a lovely queen. Everybody loved and respected the queen, because she was always nice and a great ruler.

After her husband died several years ago, it was only her and her son, Prince Jongho. The queen really wanted Jongho to get married and take over ruling the kingdom, but unfortunately to her, Jongho wanted nothing more than do archery in the castle's garden and go on adventures. He loved the forest and often travelled with his servant and friends.

Also here I am, talking about Jongho, but he is not even the main character of our story.

In this kingdom, not far from the castle, was a village. People lived happily in this village. It was near the forest, had fields and even a lake. It was everything people could wish for.

In the village lived a boy named Kang Yeosang. He was the baker's son. His father raised him and his brother Taehyun alone.

The brothers were really different from each other. You could tell by their looks that they are brothers: both had blonde hair and fair skin. But their personalities were much more different. Taehyun loved adventure, he always went out horse riding and enjoyed pulling pranks on people.

Meanwhile Yeosang was a really shy boy. He didn't like attention. He helped in his father's bakery everyday, baked, cleaned, served customers. When nobody was watching, he sang songs to himself and danced. He was a talented dancer, but he didn't like to show off his skills.

And yes, if you are wondering, Yeosang is the story's main character.

Our story begins on a warm spring day. Yeosang was getting ready for opening the bakery in the morning. He cleaned up the mess he made while baking bread, organized the pastries on the plates and did many other stuff. Meanwhile he was humming a song to himself and started dancing around in the shop. He didn't even realise that his dad, the baker was watching from the kitchen door, until he spoke up.

'You dance so well, Yeosang' said the man. Yeosang turned around.

'Oh dad, you scared me! I didn't see you in here.' His father just smiled and handed him a plate of pastries.

'You and Taehyun should go to the ball next week. You could dance and enjoy yourselves, it's been a while since you had a break.'

'Nah' Yeosang shrugged. 'I don't like people and crowded places. And I hate when people are watching. I also have nothing to wear. I'm just going to skip the ball.'

'What a shame' sighed his father, but he knew he can't force his introvert son to go if he doesn't want to. Even though he wished he sometimes left his comfort zone and wouldn't just bake bread all day. Wait... 'Oh no, the bread!' he startled and ran off to the kitchen.

Yeosang chuckled and ate a cookie from the plate. To be honest, he really wished he could go to the ball, but his shyness and anxiety always got the best of him.

As he was about to open the shop, he heard a horse neigh. He picked up the bag placed on the chair and went to the door.

Basically the whole village could hear and see his exhibitionist younger brother Kang Taehyun galloping across the streets on his brown horse. Don't get me wrong, he loved his brother with all his heart, but he was sometimes a little too much. Especially when he could smell freedom while riding his beloved horse, Lady.

'You're early' stated Yeosang as Tae stopped Lady next to him.

'Yeah, we're going hunting with Yeonjun. You sure you don't want to come? Dad would let you have a day off if you asked' said Tae.

'I'm good' answered Yeosang as he handed his brother the bag. He took a peek into it. 'Wow, my favourite cookies and apples. You're the best, Yeo!' Taehyun smiled and turned Lady around. 'I'll see you in the evening! Bye!'

Yeosang waved his younger brother off.

'Was it Taehyun?' asked his father as he returned to the bakery.

'Yes. He is already gone' answered Yeosang. He took his apron and got to work.

A/N: Well, this is the first chapter, I hope you like it! What I realised I wanted to mention is that they won't address their elders as 'hyung' in this story since it doesn't take place in Korea.
Anyways, see you in the next chapter, byeee

A/N 2.0: Hello! It's been a while... actually almost half a year since I wrote this book. I'm not rewriting it yet as I have many other stuff to write, I'm just rereading it and doing some cleaning and also naming the chapters. Don't mind me. Also OMG I cringe so much while reading but I'm glad you guys still like the book :D
