Chapter 13 - Protect

As Rothbart's magic reached the boys, a huge purple shield appeared in front of Yeosang and Jongho. Jongho was speechless.

'W-What's happening?' he whispered, but he didn't get any answer. Rothbart put his hand down.

'Swan boy, step away from him. Or easier, hand over the crystal and I'll leave you two alone.'

'Never!' said Yeosang. Jongho swiftly grabbed his bow and shot an arrow at Rothbart. The evil wizard just held his hand out and the arrow turned to dust.

'Huh?' Jongho was taken aback.

'You thought it was that easy, hm?' grinned Rothbart. He was about to attack the prince again, when...

'DAAAAAAAAAAAD!!'

Basically the whole forest could hear Omen's pained screeching. It confused Rothbart for a second, but then he raised his arms again.

'DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD, SAVE ME!! THESE SMELLY FUCKERS KEEP ATTACKING ME!!'

'Ugh' sighed Rothbart. 'You' he pointed at Yeosang. 'You, your lover and your so called friends will pay for this!' Then he turned into a hawk and flew away, to the direction where Omen's screams came from. Jongho and Yeosang followed him with their eyes until he disappeared from their sight.

'I think his vocabulary consists only from the words 'crystal', 'you thought it was that easy' and 'you will pay for this'' said Yeosang looking at the sky.

'You saved my life' whispered Jongho and looked at the older boy amazed. Yeosang turned to him.

'As long as I'm wearing the crystal he can't hurt me. I wasn't in any danger.'

'It didn't seem like that to me. I owe you one' said Jongho.

'You need to go' said Yeosang.

'No way I'm leaving you here after seeing what he can do!'

'You also saw what he cannot do. He can't hurt me' Yeosang repeated. 'I'm safe here.'

'I'll come back' swore Jongho. 'I'll see you tomorrow night?' he questioned unsure.

'It's not like I have anywhere to go' Yeosang sighed. Jongho smiled at him and kissed his forehead. The action made both of them blush.

'I-I'll go now' stuttered Jongho and rushed to the direction of the cave. Yeosang cupped his own cheeks and smiled to himself.

'Woooow, who was that fine piece of-'

'MINGI!'

'Oww, I'm sorry!'

Yeosang turned back to his friends.

'How long have you been here for?' he asked surprised.

'We just came when you two were about to smooch each other~'

'MINGI!'

'What now?' The unicorn didn't seem impressed that he is being interrupted every sentence. 'Didn't know you had a boyfriend, Yeosang.'

'I don't!' protested Yeosang. 'He is... he is the kingdom's prince.'

'The whaaaat?' Hongjoong's mouth fell open. 'What was he doing here?'

'Rothbart brought him here. He wanted him to shoot me. Apparently I'm defenseless against a hunters shot.'

'Gosh' the deer boy turned pale.

'Yunho, you don't have to shit yourself every time we mention something scary' butted in Wooyoung.

'But it's dangerous! Yeo could've died!' Yunho teared up and hugged Yeosang's waist. Yeosang ruffled the elf's hair.

'Don't worry, I'm fine!'

'Besides, he basically hooked up with the prince~'

'MINGI!'

'Aw c'mooon!'

'We have now bigger problems than Yeosang's love life' said Hongjoong. It was funny, despite the fact that the boy was so tiny, he acted like a leader and the others respected him. Well, kind of. 'For example Rothbart and that idiotic kid of his.'

'Speaking of Rothbart's child, Wooyoung, San, care to explain what happened?' appeared Seonghwa out of thin air. The WooSan duo looked at each other and smiled at Seonghwa innocently.

'We have no idea what you're talking about, Your Majesty~' they even bowed.

'You two are suspicious, you never act this respectful, only when you are in trouble' Seonghwa pointed at them with his magic wand with narrowed eyes. Then he turned to Yeosang. 'By the way, Yeosang, are you sure it was a good idea to let Prince Jongho know about what happened?'

'It's not like I had a choice, I turned into my human form right in front of his eyes because of Rothbart's failed trick. But his reaction was fine for someone who had never experienced this kind of magic before. Also I saved him from Rothbart, so even if he wasn't on our side, he still owes me one, as he said.' I hope he is with us, though, he thought.

'I really hope we can trust him. Now he is in danger too' sighed the Fairy King.

'Why?'

'Because Rothbart will be now after him too. But we'll get through this.' he said. Then they just sat in the moonlight in silence.

'Soooo.... can I be the godfather to your and the prince's children?'

'MINGI!'
