"Hoseok? Is that you?"

Hoseok turned around. He knew this voice.
It was distant and low, like an echo from the past.

"Hoseok?"

The young man turned around. A heavy fog slowly moved around him, impeaching him to see anything.

"Where are you?" asked Hoseok.

The voice cracked up. Hoseok recognized what was happening. The person was crying.

He started to run towards the muffled sounds, however his legs became heavier at each step he took.

"Where are you?" repeated Hoseok desperately.

He continued walking as fast as he could, until he bumped into something big. The shock made him stumble and fall back.
Hoseok felt his palms on the cold ground.
He wanted to stand back up, but somehow it felt impossible.

"Hoseok"

The voice was just a bit louder now.

"Please, show yourself" asked Hoseok, not knowing what else to do.

This is when all the fog suddenly disappeared, revealing what Hoseok had bumped into.

A statue.

Hoseok felt tears filling his eyes.

"Yoongi" he whispered, before it all became black again.

~

Hoseok woke up with a heavy head. Now that he was back in reality, he kept hearing Yoongi's voice calling his name.

"You have to be patient, I'm sorry" he whispered as he got up.

Hoseok shook his head. He needed to focus to what would happen next. After all, today was an important day.

Jungwon was already up, making breakfast.

"Hyung!" he called as he saw Hoseok stepping in the kitchen. "I was going to call you."
"Morning" greeted Hoseok. "It smells good, what are you making?"
"Kimchi-jeon" announced Jungwon with a smile. "I thought we deserved something good to start the day well."

Hoseok smiled, hiding the fact that his day had already started painfully. He didn't want to bother Jungwon with that though.

"Thank you" he simply said.

~

"We'll see each other tonight then" said Hoseok.
"Only if I survive a day of meaningless and painful classes" replied Jungwon.
"Come on" said Hoseok, smiling gently at his brother. "We've been over this so many times, I'm sure you'll do fine this time as well."
"Sometimes it sucks" mumbled Jungwon.

Hoseok fainted not to have heard that last comment. He didn't want to argue with Jungwon. At least the latter didn't have a broken heart to carry around like he did. Jungwon was still free of all that kind of trouble.

Hoseok came back to his room to get his bag ready. Some part of him didn't want to go back to university again, however it was a better option than having to find a job.
Evidently, Jungwon and him didn't have to study nor work, but they had decided that it would be more safe for them to have a strong cover. They did not want any intrusive private questions, and two young people just doing nothing usually did attract attention rapidly.

Hoseok had learnt a long time ago not to underestimate neighbors talking. The two brothers somehow always ended up in trouble, no matter how carefully they acted.

"Hyung?" called Jungwon from his own room.
"Hum?" replied Hoseok, closing his bag.
"I'm going now" announced Jungwon.
"Don't you want to go together?" asked Hoseok, surprised.
"I'll be fine" replied Jungwon.

Hoseok nodded, even though Jungwon couldn't see him.

A smile spread his lips as he left the apartment. He had to walk for a bit to reach the university, which he liked. He took a quick detour to see the statue.
Unfortunately he didn't have time to stop. He was already late.

Hang in there.

He nonetheless admired the statue, trying to gather as much hope as he could. He had to.

For you.

Hoseok left the square. The more he walked away from it, the more he got lost in his thoughts. They eventually shifted from Yoongi to Jungwon. He wondered how his brother would do today.

I shouldn't have been so surprised he didn't want to go with me. He's not a kid anymore.

In fact, Jungwon hadn't been "a kid" for a few centuries now. However, Hoseok couldn't help but seeing him as such. After all, he had found him lost and desperate, not understanding who he truly was.
Hoseok had taken him in as his own little brother and had raised him since.

The young man chuckled, that literally felt like an eternity ago. He was happy he had found Jungwon, though. An immortal life came with its difficulties and struggles, but having found another immortal had been a blessing for him.

He would always be there for Jungwon, no matter what.

~

"Hi!" someone on Hoseok's left greeted. "You're new, right?"

Hoseok looked at the person, and saw an undeniably handsome guy sending a flying kiss his way.

"Jin, stop that, you're scaring everyone!" said another young man next to the kiss-sending guy.

Both of them were sitting at a "welcome to university" stand.
Hoseok shook his shoulders and walked towards them.

"Yeah, I'm new" he said. "I'm Jung Hoseok."
"Perfect, let me check the list" said the second guy. "I'm Jimin by the way!"
"And I'm Handsome Jin" added the first one.

Hoseok chuckled. He liked how confident this Jin sounded. It was quite funny. At least, it wasn't something one saw every day.

"Oh, there you are!" said Jimin, nodding at his list. "You're entering the visual arts degree, right?"
"Exactly!" replied Hoseok.
"Cool, I'll be studying theater myself" explained Jin. "We might see each other again!"

Hoseok took two seconds to consider them. He usually liked to stay by himself, especially since Yoongi had..... Well, he usually preferred to stay alone.
However these two seemed like people he could spend some time with. At least for today, so that he wouldn't be so bored.
He looked at them and saw Jimin hitting Jin's shoulder and then the two laughing together.

Yeah, they seem cool.

"You guys have plans for lunch?" asked Hoseok.

He realized how upfront this sounded as soon as the words escaped his mouth.

"I don't know anyone yet, but you look really cool, so I thought that maybe-" he added, a little confused.
"You should join us then!" suggested Jimin.
"But don't be surprised if you change your mind when you meet the rest of us" added Jin laughing.
"Come on" replied Jimin. "We're all cool, you'll see."

"Hi there!" someone shouted from the other side of the campus.

Hoseok turned around to see who it was, and he saw people coming towards them.

"On the other hand, maybe you'll see that now" said Jimin laughing.
