"Hoseok"
"Hoseok"
It was like a wave of electricity, slowly spreading down Hoseok's spin every time he heard his name.
The sound was so muffled that he couldn't determine where it came from. As if it came from every direction at once.
Yet, it was familiar.
"Yoongi?"
The mist around Hoseok instantly faded. Hoseok frowned. He hadn't even noticed it before it disappeared. He looked around, sensing something watching him.
On his right, he finally saw Yoongi.
He was standing still, eyes closed, in the same position he had kept for centuries."Yoongi" repeated Hoseok as he ran towards his soulmate.
For once, his legs allowed him to gain speed rapidly. As soon as he reached him, his hands wrapped around Yoongi's.
Something was odd, though.
Sometimes was different. It was like trying to remember a dream after waking up. Hoseok knew something was strange, yet he couldn't figure what it was.
Suddenly it hit him like a truck.
Yoongi's hands weren't freezing cold.
They were warm.
As they used to be."Are you really here?" asked Hoseok, planting his eyes into Yoongi's.
No answer came.
Yoongi was still a statue.
Hoseok hadn't saved him yet.
"Please" whispered Hoseok. "I don't know what to do."
As he looked down, blinking to free his tears, he heard him.
"Ask him"
Once again, the voice came from every direction, as if Yoongi was talking directly in Hoseok's mind.
"Ask who?" replied Hoseok instantly, feeling stress overwhelming him in an instant.
Hoseok's vision was becoming lighter and lighter as everything started to fade away.
"Ask who?" he repeated, in vain, his voice echoing as he woke up.
~
One of the worst things to wake up to is knocking on the door. One other is waking up puzzled from a bad dream. Unfortunately for Hoseok, his Monday morning started with both.
"You're going to be late" said Jungwon, from the other side of the door.
Hoseok sighed before looking at his phone. Jungwon was right, if he didn't move right now he'd be late.
A growl and some clothes later, Hoseok was in the kitchen, filling his travel mug with coffee."What happened?" asked Jungwon as he put his shoes in the entrance hall.
"Had a nightmare" answered Hoseok, who had been trying not to think about it.
"Again?" mumbled Jungwon.Yeah, it sucks.
"Sorry, I have to go" said Jungwon. "We can talk about it tonigh if you want to."
"Alright" said Hoseok, closing his mug and heading for the entrance himself.~
"You don't look well" said Taehyung.
"That's not very nice to say" replied Jimin, frowning at the later.
"I didn't sleep well last night" explained Hoseok.
"Just sleep during the first class" said Taehyung, laughing. "Mister Kim never looks away from his power point, he would never notice.""Is that what you do?" asked a voice behind them.
"Shit" whispered Taehyung.Jimin laughed, it was always fun to watch Taehyung being scolded by his older brother.
"His only option here is changing the subject" whispered Jungkook to Jimin, as the latter nodded.
"Where were you last night?" asked Taehyung, hoping that it would distract Jin.
"Oh uhm" replied Jin, obviously embarrassed. "Out."
"Out?" repeated Taehyung, side smiling. For some unknown reason, Namjoon arrived at that moment, with everyone's eyes on him.
"What is it?" he instantly asked, looking straight at Jin.
"Out, you said?" asked Taehyung again.
"Moving on" said Jin, starting to walk. "We all have classes to attend."Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook watched him go, closely followed by Namjoon asking him what had happened.
"I'm telling you, they spent the night together" whispered Taehyung. "He didn't sleep at home, and they arrived at the same time."
"Sure it wasn't a coincidence?" asked Jungkook.
"Absolutely not a coincidence" confirmed Jimin.Suddenly remembering Hoseok, Jimin turned to him.
"What do you think?" he asked.
"We need more information" replied Hoseok, clearly wondering if they were indeed right.
"Lunch?" asked Jungkook.
"Yep, at lunch we'll know" said Taehyung, his brain already working on a strategy.Hoseok smiled, it was good to be with young people. It made him forget how old he was himself.
I may be old, but I still love drama.
Truth was that Jin's behavior had been weird.
Why would he want to hide where he was? Probably because he was embarrassed about it.
Why would he be embarrassed about it?
Probably because he was with Namjoon.Hoseok entered to classroom, mister Kim was setting his powerpoint up. Taehyung was already in the back row, next to Jimin.
"'Night night yall" whispered Taehyung.
"If you sleep, I won't give t my notes this time. You'll have to manage on your own" warned Jimin.
"C'mon Jimin" said Taehyung, crossing his arms on the table and resting his head on them. "Please?"Jimin looked at him. He was performing his best sad puppy eyes, and Jimin was visibly on the verge of giving Tae whatever he wanted.
Hoseok smiled as he sat next to them, still unsure if he would take note or sleep. To be honest, he didn't want to do either. Sleeping was taking a huge risk nightmare wise. Taking notes would be the right thing to do, obviously, but it was boring.
He wanted to focus on his latest dream.Maybe if he could think about it with a calmer mind, he would be able to find something.
Mister Kim started talking about his first slide, and clearly Hoseok wasn't in the mood to be a good student today.
He opened his computer and started writing down what he remembered.
Mist all around
Yoongi's voice came from everywhere
He called me
I found him...
His hands
They were warm! That never happened beforeHoseok felt his heart sinking. He hadn't felt Yoongi's hands in his for so long.
At the end he said something
...
Hoseok frowned.
Ask him
Hoseok looked away from the screen.
He was sure Yoongi had said that. But who is he talking about?
People he knew back then?
Not a lot of them are still around...
He couldn't mean mortals, they are long gone. That leaves me with...
Suddenly things started clicking in Hoseok's brain.
Jungwon.
