Part Four- Down in the Mouth

Today was the big day. The day that Sister Lucie would start work at the Ministry. Nerves were setting in as she was slipping into her uniform, but excitement to finally get back into the job she's trained so hard to do engulfed any anxious thoughts she had.

She changed into her uniform, but removing her Sister headdress, revealing her thick blonde hair that was currently pulled back into a slick pony tail.

Lucie walked through the corridors locating the dinning hall where she ate on the night of Primo's celebration. She scanned the hustle of the masses of ghouls and Sisters, searching for Copia. They had agreed to eat breakfast together in the dining hall, despite Copia usually eating up in his office. When she caught a glimpse of the black Cassocks in the midst of the crowds she instantly felt relieved, skipping his way.

"Ah, Sister!" Copia exclaims, holding his arms up, encouraging a hug. Lucie is pulled into him warm embrace before they make themselves a coffee and locate a nice place to sit. "How are you feeling my dear? Nervous, excited?" Copia sips on his coffee, visibly wincing at the heat of the beverage.

"I'm well, I'm more excited than nervous which is a good sign! I just hope it works out." Lucie offers Copia a small smile, a smile with a hint of fear behind it.

"You're going to be brilliant, just be you my love." Copia places his gloved hand over hers and returns an encouraging grin.

After exchanging another friendly hug before saying goodbye, Lucie was left alone with her thoughts as she walked towards her new office. She flicks the lights on revealing her home for the foreseeable future, ecstatic and in admiration at the sleek and modern office. It was the opposite of what she expected.

Time passed quicker than ever before as Lucie found herself enjoying her job more than she ever had in the past. Working with ghoul fangs was much more fun than she ever anticipated. The gratitude and utter happiness that her victims feel after she's finished is a daily reminder of why she fell in love with this career.

She flicked about on her computer to see if anybody else was booked in...no.It can't be.

Terzo.

The Papa Emeritus the Third.

She felt her stomach unexplainably drop. She was terrified. What if she messes up? What if he isn't happy with her work? Of course she'd be lucky enough to be seeing an Emeritus brother on her first day. Surely it was a mistake.

But little did she know, Terzo was already approaching her and was more scared than Lucie ever could be. He was absolutely terrified of dentists- but he couldn't take the pain any longer. When he laid eyes on Sister Lucie at the party, he almost felt relieved, almost. Because although she wasn't the old, patronising man he expected Imperator to hire, he still had to let her fiddle about with his teeth.

Lucie heard a knock on the door. She felt sick. She opened the door hoping it was all a huge error. It was not.

"Ah, Papa! It's a pleasure to see you again, please come in!" Lucie says with fake confidence, exchanging a small hug with intimidating man. He smelt like a fusion of expensive cologne and incense, still lingering from mass.

"Likewise, sorella." He spoke softly and slowly, giving a small nod as a smile tugged at his lips. Lucie instantly picked up on his nerves. She guided him to the chair in the centre of the room, where he reluctantly perched, cringing at the sound of the plastic beneath him.

"How can I assist you today, Papa?" Lucie enquired, sitting in her chair and rolling closer beside the man's side. He was wearing a black, long sleeved button up shirt with a pair of formal pants, similar to the outfit Copia wore to lunch.
