Part 40- Balla Con Me ~ (Dance With Me)
After the ceremony a celebratory party was planned, Lucie and Terzo being handed a bubbling glass of fine champagne as they arrived the grand hall. They converse with the masses of guests piled into the decorated venue, dressed in their best pieces for the couple's big day- they hardly got a minute to acknowledge one another or anything that had happened so far that day.Though eventually, they finally found each other alone- well almost- as they were pushed towards the dance floor in the centre of a large crowd, everyone gathering to watch the event...the couple's first dance as man and wife. Together they'd agreed on 'I've Been Waiting For You' by ABBA, both of them equally adoring the Swedish pop band.
Terzo held his white gloved hand forwards, motioning for Lucie to take it and join him as the music began, softly serenading the ears of all. When she placed her own into his familiar one, she noted that it was considerably warmer than it's usual temperature- was he nervous?
"Mi amore." He smirked, whispering down to the girl who just beamed up towards him with a delicate sparkle in her eye. His other hand moved towards her side where hers was resting against the soft mesh, picking it up with great care. "Balla con me, fiore mia." The feeling of his breath whispering into her neck made a shiver trickle down her back.
They found a rhythm in time with the heavenly chords pulsating through their hearts, each lyric holding nothing but truth about their mutual feelings. The girl's lips couldn't help but tug into a smile and form a warm grin.
"Don't look at the floor, look at me." He gently says as she anxiously took note of every step she made when her stilettos were placed onto the hard floor- she was still getting familiar with dancing, though trusted Terzo and his expertise. "That's it. Keep your hands on my shoulders. I've got you." He softly smiled down as his hands cradled her hips.
"You have once again out done yourself Emeritus." Lucie began after finding a comfortable pace in his embrace. "White looks breathtaking on you."
"Don't make me blush. Not in front of our audience tesoro." He cheekily whispered. "Though I do think you're putting me to shame. Your dress is ravishing, look at all of that glitter. Bellissimo." The glowing light from the overhead chandelier shined down onto the sparkle of the fabric, reflecting speckles of golden gleam as his fingers brush across her jaw.
The pair elegantly and seamlessly floated around the ballroom floor as people beamed at the sight, some even shedding a tear or two. Though despite the horde eagerly gazing at the newly wedded couple as they slow danced in each other's arms, they felt as though they were alone and the music was nothing but a drone in the background of their moment. Nostalgia of the time that Terzo had first brought Lucie into the same ballroom in the dead of the night, teaching her how to dance. And here they were after all that time, on the same, polished floor, taking their first dance as a married couple. They couldn't take their eyes away from the other.
As the music came to a close, Terzo twirled Lucie around before she allowed him to tip her backwards. The sound of their heavy breathing and joyous laughter was drowned out by the applause of the people. He pulled her back up on her feet and towards him so that their faces were near enough to feel each other's body heat. Together they held strong eye contact, staying completely still, as though frozen in awe of one another, their lips so close that they were almost touching.
"I love you Lucie." The words rolled effortlessly off the tip of his tongue.
"I love you too Terzo." She smirked before being sucked into his hungry lips, the dance floor being flooded like a tsunami by the guests, joining the pair once again. Though there was one last thing left to do before they planned on joining in and letting their hair down.
