Part 45- Superman
Terzo wanted nothing more than to finally be able to settle down in the new house, so insisted on paying for many decorators to finish the job a lot faster than the couple ever could have- especially with Lucie being way into the second trimester of her pregnancy. Once all the painting and necessary adjustments had been completed it was simply a case of moving their things from the ministry to the house and purchasing any furniture that they hadn't already."Terzo, could you just help me with this, it's a little heavy." Lucie had softly smiled as she held her back.
Terzo lifted the cardboard box with the help of Copia, up and down the flights of stairs to the truck transferring their things. Lucie felt guilty, but she also wasn't complaining that she'd gotten off the hook, for Terzo's face was glazed with a thin layer of sweat, his sleeves rolled up and his shoulder slightly slouched. By the end of the night he was completely exhausted.
"I'm sorry I wasn't much help today." Lucie whispers as she massaged his shoulders. He was sat in-between her legs on the floor as she sat up on the sofa that was still in its plastic coating, attempting to ease the pain in his arms after the strenuous lifting, kneading the muscles surrounding his neck.
"You were, don't say that." He rubbed her lap from beneath her. "We're getting there huh?" He smiled, turning his head to meet her eyes.
"Shit. I didn't realise how late it was Terzo." She looked at her wristwatch before getting up to gather their coats and car keys. "Come on we will have to get back."
"Lucifer, I am not really up for driving." He didn't move from where he was positioned on the wooden floor beneath him, his back against the sofa. "Fiore, the mattress is here now...what do you say?" He smirked.
"You want to stay here?" Lucie looked surprised, stopping in her tracks to get her things together ready to leave.
"First night in the new house? It sounds like fun, si?" He offered. "I know the bed frame isn't finished, and I'm too tired to do so, but we could gather some blankets. Come on." He lengthened his words and did his best to persuade her before she gave in and assisted him with locating enough blankets to keep them warm throughout the night, for the unfurnished and un-heated house was a little nippy.
Together they attempted to put a bed sheet over the mattress in the dark, only the light from the fluorescent moon shining through the large windows that still had no curtains was allowing them to somewhat see.
"I don't remember the last time I changed my bedding, for it was always just done for me." Terzo laughed, scratching his head at the effort it was taking. "And I definitely don't remember it being this physically demanding."
"It sure has been a while." Lucie agreed. "I will miss the ministry solely for that reason." She only half joked.
When they eventually managed, they both got comfortable on the mattress placed on the floor in a nest of comfortable blankets and each other's embrace. Lucie giggled as Terzo tickled her slightly, whispering sweet nothings into her ear as they adjusted to the new environment.
"This feels so weird Terzo." Lucie softly whispered through a smile.
"When it's all finished we have to throw a party." He returns making Lucie scoff.
"Is that all you ever think about my love, parties?" She chuckled. "Not about your pregnant spouse, no?"
"Please all I-"
"Terzo, Terzo." She shushed. "I was joking it's ok, you are literally my superman, you couldn't be more helpful. It was sarcasm. I love you my darling." She beamed as she leaned up from his grasp and planted a kiss on his forehead.
