"Madam Jada, It is time to get up. Your parents and siblings expect you to be at breakfast," a young woman says. She hears a groan from a lump in the very pink bed.
"Can I sleep in for like two more minutes? Also how many times do I have to remind you? You don't need to call me Madam, we're friends Almond."
The blanket comes off and reveals a a young girl. Her name is Jada Wada. Currently the youngest family member of the Wada Dynasty. Almond rolls her eyes at Jada.
"Whatever, Come on we have to get you ready. It seems like your father has an important announcment to make," Almond says.
Almond is Jada's court lady. She came to Jada's kingdom after the last lady-in-waiting was caught stealing from the kingdom. The previous court lady was way older than Jada. It seemed perfect for the next court lady to be around the same age as the princess. When they first met, Jada and Almond hit it off and soon became friends. After finally getting ready, Jada is out of her room and walking through a corridor. She is wondering what her father wants to talk about with the family. She's a little bit nervous. Last time they had a family meeting, Jada found out she was going to be queen. That made her almost have a heart attack! She found out that both of her older sisters, Jessica and Jennifer, didn't want to become queen. That left the youngest Wada expected to take on the role as queen, which she didn't even know if she wanted to do. The idea of ruling over Vietnam made her feel anxious.
Walking throughout the hallways of the castle, Jada is being greeted by housemaids. She smiles at one of the older maids and even helps her some of the laundry to dry. She was about to do another task until she runs into Jennifer.
"Where have you been?! You're gonna be late for breakfast!" Jennifer rushes towards her.
"Uh I was helping an older maid out?" Jada says.
"How many times does me and Jessica have to tell you? You are supposed to be up at the dining around 7:30!!" Jennifer rolls her eyes, grabs Jada's arm and pulls her towards the main dining hall. The two of them the walk in and Jada's eyes immediately goes towards the table full of food. Woah, Jada thought, that's a lot of food. Jada's dad smiles at her from his seat. Kham Wada, the king of Vietnam. A very kind man. The entirety or Vietnam loves him. Kham gets up from his seat, and walks over her to give her a hug.
"What's the occasion? We normally eat cereal for breakfast," Jada looks up and asks her father. Her father smiles and guides her and Jennifer towards the table. Jada's mother, Judy smiles at her. Jada sees her sister Jessica is already sitting in her chair. Jada sits down as the maids comes in with the last portion of food. After the maids leave, Jada and her sisters look at their father expectantly.
"So since we're all here, whats the announcement you wanted to say before?" Jessica asks.
"Well, me and your mother have decided, It's been a while since we have had a ball," their father starts. They all look at each other in surprise. A ball?
"What's the occasion?" Jennifer asked. The sisters are curious as well.
"Me and your mother have a big announcement that we will share at the ball. It's better for the kingdom to also know," he finishes. He looks nervous and glances at Judy and she gives him a quick anxious smile and then smiles at the girls. The sisters are at each other in suspicion. Jada was confused on what they were hiding. Kham stands ups from the table.
"After you have eaten breakfast, make sure you wear something elegant and professional. Your family members, the kingdom, and an entirely different kingdom is going to be here." Kham leaves the dining hall with his wife following him. She gives the kids one last smile and wave. She then walks away. Jada's sisters talk amongst themselves, exciting for the future ball waiting to happen.
Jada however, couldn't seem to shake the feeling of unease off her.
