Chapter 25: the sound nin

Sakura POV

After that creepy man bit Sasuke-kun and Natsuki-chan they started screaming and curled over in pain, even Natsuki-Chan was screaming and she nearly got cut in half and didn't even shed a tear, I was comforting Sasuke-kun he screamed again and passed out, I heard a higher pitch grunt and remembered that Natsuki-chan was there so I turned around to tend to her and I heard he'd mutter in a pain filled voice

"Left, pouch, needles, now"

So I reached into her left weapons pouch and pulled out four needles that she immediately jabbed into the side of her neck and passed out in my arms, now I had three people to drag to safety and protect

I dragged all three of my team mates and found a big tree with a cave under the roots and I brought them all there, Naruto was silent but Natsuki-chan and
Sasuke-kun we're grunting and gasping in pain every so often but their breathing was steady however they did have a very high fever

'Looks like it's up to me to protect them for the time being'

I set up some traps and then kept watch if my team all night, I was exhausted

It was just me and my team under this tree, I had used some cloth from
Natsuki-chan's medical pouch and wet the cloth with cold water from the river and put them on my teams foreheads, I would change out their towels every so often

I started dozing off and my eyes got really heavy

'No, I can't fall asleep, I need to protect them'

I thought shaking my head in an attempt to wake myself up But failed and instead fell closed my eyes and dozed off

I heard a loud over exaggerated yawn and opened my eyes to see Naruto awake and sitting up, and then Sasuke woke up, then Natsuki

"Di-did you take care of us"

Asked Natsuki-chan and Sasuke stayed quiet looking at his sister than at me

"Thanks to you we're all better, thanks Sakura"

Said Naruto grining and I heard a rustling and saw orochimaru standing in the bushes

"Now you'll know what it's like to be prey, running away from its predator, and that predator, is me"

Said the evil man and his neck extended towards me and turned into a snake head, I tried to warn the others but I couldn't talk, and they were talking but nothing was being said, it was silent, and then the snake eat them whole, but that I woke up, it was a dream and my team was still asleep, but at least orochimaru wasn't here

I looked up and saw sunlight coming through the leaves and then heard a rustling, just like in my dream, I grabbed my kunai and held it ready, I turned around, but it was just a little squirrel, he started running at me and I realized something and threw my kunai I front of it scared it ran away

'Too close'

I thought and turned back to my team to see how their doing, Natsuki-chan had a higher fever so I changed her towel and put it back and started to sway from exhaustion and then I heard a voice behind me

"Wow your half asleep, some protector"

And I turned around to see the sound ninja standing there

"But you don't need to watch anymore, what's the point we've already found you, now wake Sasuke and his sister up, we want to fight them"

The one covered in bandages announced

"What do you want, I mean actually want, I know orochimaru was calling the shots from the shadows"
