Chapter 41: power assessment

We were all jumping through the forest to our destination and then all of the prisoners just stopped and stared at us

"Hey who said you could take a break"

Guren rose her voice so all of them could hear and one with a canon attached to his shoulder stepped forward

"That would be me"

He said sounding very confident, though I didn't know this woman or her abilities, she was able to keep around 70 strong, mutant, experiments made by orochimaru here all by herself so she must be strong, meaning this was a very, very bad idea

Guren ignored him and started counting the prisoners when he yelled again

"We're through listening to you, we've taken a vote amongst ourselves and we've decided you're dead lady!"

And a moment later she finished counting

"Fifteen, sixteen of you is that right?"

And another short one with a hunch back yelled

"What are you scared, heheheh, she's scared!"

He yelled that last bit to the others and guren asked with an annoyed tone

"Scared, of you"

And another one wearing a cloak with spiky brown hair asked

"You really think you two can defeat all sixteen of us"

And I rose my hand and said

"I'm not part of this, just stay out of my way"

And he corrected himself

"Oh never mind, you, all alone, versus the sixteen of us, FOOLISH WOMAN"

And they all activated their curse marks and keeping to my word I turned around and pushed through them to get to a tree to watch from

"I'll tell you what's foolish, going into battle without assessing your opponents strength"

Guren said and the one with the canon shot a canon ball of chakra at her that she dodged by a hair

"Crystal style, crystal prison"

She said and a massive pink crystal generated around us

'So she is a crystal user, something interesting for once'

I thought raising an eyebrow then chuckling to myself and continued watching as they all attacked and she easily ended the battle by trapping them all in crystals

"Hm, not only we're those guys hopelessly out classed, they were hopelessly stupid"

One guy in the only group of five that didn't challenge guren said, guren walked up but I just jumped over

"Are you saying your smarter?"

Guren asked and when no one replied she asked

"Well are you coming then"

And the one that talked before said

"Yes of course we're coming, it's not like we were running away, we were just avoiding a pointless fight"

He said making one of his friends bow with him

"Who's this cutey"

He asked looking at me after standing back up

"My name is Natsuki Uchiha, I'm 16"

I said and he looked away disappointed because he's probably closer to 25

After a long while of walking we made it to this run down, abandoned shack we're we stayed and rested

I was sitting on a hay bail making little electrical currents and zapping one of the members making him look around confused every time when guren came out and asked to talk with me outside

"So, you said your name is Natsuki Uchiha, right, as in, orochimaru's next body?"

She asked and I nodded and she looked me up and down, looked a little sad then nodded to herself before looking back up at me

"Alright, show me what you got"

She said and made a crystal prison around us and used her crystal style to try and trap me

I jumped back before it could grab at my foot and came to a guess that it probably used earth style so I took a gamble and waited for her to shoot more crystal at me

When she did I coated my hand with electric style chakra and it cut right through the crystal

I activated my sharingan to try and copy her jutsu but nothing happened

'She created a new element, crystal release, impressive'

I thought and dodged all of her attacks before I found a 4 second window while she was gathering up more chakra, I used my window to generate a whole ton of fog like Zabuza did and used my sharingan to see her look around confused

I noticed her try and crystallize it so I continuously made more so she couldn't see

I walked around silently and threw senbon at her crystal prison making them bounce off and hit her from behind and when that happened she would throw a clump of crystal at where it came from and waste chakra

I did this until she was panting from exhaustion and leaned down for a moment to catch her breath and I moved like the fog that was surrounding us

Since the fog was made of chakra I moved it at will to make it look like my movement was moving the fog and that's where she would throw more crystal

When she had her back turned to me I put the handle of my katana in my mouth and ran over, grabbed her wrists and pointed them up putting my head on her shoulder, placing the katana in front of her throat

I used my mind reading jutsu and said to her through my thoughts

"What happened to 'don't jump into battle without properly assessing your opponents strengths"

And she just said

"Alright, your good I admit, free me so we can go check up on those idiots"

And I dropped my katana and let go of her wrists then I walked over and started using medical ninjutsu to give her back her lost chakra

We got up and walked back over to where the others were and get ready to go
