Almost Something

I haven't touched the book in weeks. Instead, I've been too busy trying to catch up on school. The teachers aren't messing around this year at all. Especially that toad face looking one. I hate her.

Lucius wrote to Draco, Enzo and I a week ago and demanded that we all get on her good side. I believe his exact words were, "get on her good side and do whatever she asks of you, or you'll need to find a new place to live."

Of course if Narcissa knew he said that, he'd be the one looking for a new place to live.

So naturally, I saved the letter.

I might need that eventually if I need blackmail.

Draco's been trying real hard to get that toad to like him. Sucking up, turning in people, spying. Not me. Enzo and I decided that we don't give a shit.

"Come on Draco, don't be such a suck up. It's embarrassing." Enzo says to him.

"You two should be trying to get on her good side before she thinks you're traitors," Draco tells us.

"Whatever," Enzo scoffs. "I do not care at all about what Lucius wants from me. I can easily find a new place to live if I have to."

"He won't kick us out because Narcissa would kick him out first. The moment she found out about his threat," I add.

"He's only your uncle. I'm sure you both can find another place to stay but he's my dad. My parents. I don't have anywhere else to go," Draco says.

"As if we'd leave you to be homeless," Enzo laughs.

"Or worse, stuck there all by yourself." I add.

"Believe it or not Draco, we aren't heartless."

"Okay, I get it."

Enzo and I look at each other and shake our head. "But you're still going to do it." I say to him.

Draco nods his head.

"Fine, we will allow you to make such a stupid decision." Enzo jokingly says.

"How generous of you," Draco adds.

"Yeah, we know. We're your favourite people and you don't know what you'd do without us! We already said yes. No need to grovel." Enzo says.

"Honestly Draco, stop! You're going to embarrass us!" I add on to the joke. He just rolls his eyes and turns away to walk off. Then he flips us off.

"Dramatic much!" Enzo shouts to him, and the two of us start laughing.

"Oh he hates us." I say to him.

"We're definitely getting hexed later."

"Watch your back," I say and he smiles. "Yeah, you too." He replies before disappearing to his dorm room, leaving me alone.

I sat there alone for a few minutes, enjoying the silence.

Of course until the door opens and in comes Mattheo.

"You're interrupting," I say to him. He stops in his tracks and looks at me.

"Interrupting what?"

"My peace and quiet," I deadpan. That caught him off guard and backs off a little. Then I smile, and he smiles.

"I can go if you want your peace and quiet," he smirks but he steps forward.

"I would very much appreciate that," I continue to say but allow him to come closer.

"Oh yeah? Would you really appreciate me leaving?"

He takes another step towards me.

"That would be nice, yeah." I say and he smirks.
