"When you stopped responding to the intercom, we sent Sam up there to check on you and when he finally opened your door, he saw you standing on the balcony and he text me to have someone catch you. I couldn't do it so we sent Jesse and then he ran and saw you falling. Then he caught you." Jean explained what happened after I got over my shock.
"So can we please leave now?" Jess asked and I chuckled.
"Sure." I said and Jess grabbed my bags and took them to the car. Why is he so eager? I gave Jean and Sam a questioning look but they just gave me a sneaky smile.
We went to the car and Jess put my luggage in the trunk then walked around and opened the door for me. I slid in and he went around to get in also. Then we were off.
"So what was that look that Jean have me?" I asked him after about five minutes of silence. He looked over at me for a brief second before looking back at the road.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He said but I could see the faint smile on his face. I just shook my head and looked out the window.
That's when I noticed that we were going the opposite way from the airport.
"Jess, where are we going. The airport is that way." He shook his head.
"It's a shortcut." He said and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yeah." He said.
"You're lucky I trust you." I said and leaned back in my seat with my arms crossed.
"Good to know, kitten." He said and I looked at him suspiciously.
"What did you just call me?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Kitten. It's cute don't you think?" He smiled and I did a sarcastic laugh.
"Oh haha. It's adorable." He chuckled and turned into a jagged road.
"Jess, are you sure this is a safe shortcut?" I asked worriedly but he just said not to worry. We had been driving for about an hour now.
The road cleared the more we rode on it, thank god. We were by the beach. There were beach houses all along the coast. They were beautiful. That's when I recognized where we were.
"When I was seven, me and Cass would come to Sam's beach house and hang out with Jason, Claire, Liam, Chyna, and Asia. Sometimes we'd go over neighbors houses too." I said while smiling.
"Sam told me about this place and he said it would get your mind off everything." He looked at me for a brief moment before pulling up to the real gold gate that had Carter on it.
"Name." The familiar voice said from the intercom. I leaned over into the mic.
"Rose Carter." The gates opened and Jess drove up to the three story mansion. He turned the car off and turned to me before I could get out.
"When you get out, you're going to close your eyes. I have a surprise for you." I raised my eyebrows at him and he smiled.
"Ok." I got out and closed my eyes. I waited for Jess to guide me to the mansion. He came around and put his hands over my eyes for safety measures and lead me up to the door. He opened it and led me into a room and guided me to sit down. He took his hands from my eyes.
"Keep your eyes closed." I heard him go into another room, then I heard scratching on cardboard. Then I heard something thump.
"Ok open your eyes." I opened my eyes and gasped. In front of me was a box with two kittens. One was grayish and the other was tanish-orangish. Both of them had blue eyes. They were staring right at me and meowing.
"Oh my god Jess. They are adorable!" I picked them both up and coo'd.
"Sam told me how you used to have a cat named princess but when your parents died, she did too. So I went and found these babies and thought about you."
"I'm going to name you Kit. I'll name you Kat." I said to the at one first then to the gray one.
"Wow, nice choice." Jess said and I smiled and hugged him.
"You are the best." I kissed him and he smiled against my lips.
I love you Jesse Collins. So damn much.
