"I miss you." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Of course you do Chris." I said tiredly. I've heard this conversation many times before.

"Ro I mean it." He said and I clenched my teeth.

"Don't you ever call me that again." I said. Jess looked at me weird and I rolled my eyes again.

"At least go out to dinner with me. I want to explain." I thought about it. I really wanted to hear about what happened that night.

"Only if I can bring a guest." I looked over at Jess and covered the microphone.

"Would you like to go to dinner with me and an old friend?" He nodded and I nodded back then listened to what Chris had to say.

"Sure. How about tonight at 6?" He asked.

"Yeah sure perfect." I hung up and turned to Jess.

"6." I said and he kissed my cheek.

"You were talking before someone interrupted you." He said and I nodded then continued where I left off.

"It was Freshman year."

First day. I think I can make it. I walked in the school and looked around. Kids were all in groups. I bet I looked stupid walking all by myself looking lost.

"New girl?" Someone said and I jumped and turned around to see a girl. She was dark skinned with pretty curly hair. I shyly nodded.

"Me too. It's my first year." She said and grabbed my arm then started dragging me with her towards the office.

"How do you know where to go then?" I asked and she shrugged nonchalantly.

"My brother goes here and I came here all the time when he had to stay after for football practice. I'm Amber by the way." She said and I nodded.

"I'm Rose." I said.

"Well Rose. I think you'll be my new best friend." She said and I smiled.
