Testing the Waters

Japan: Hey Meek (she says coldly)

Meek: "was sup Japan" (his eyes wonder over to Chino who has a guilty look on his face) .."what's goin on?" (he leans in to hug her)

Chino: "We just left LIV together.." (he stutters)

Japan: (she cuts him off) "I just came to say hi, not here for no drama"

Meek: "nah you good, you good..."

Japan: (she smiles) "You still working on the album?"

Meek: "yea..."

Japan: "can we hear some of it?"

(He just looks at her before turning to Cruz and telling him to Key up the music. She walks over and joins her girls and Chino on the sofa. Meek gives him a look of disapproval but Chino just shrugs it off. The first song he snippets for them is his intro that he had been working on for months. Meek stands by the control board and watches them nod their heads. He shares a glance with Japan a few times, swelling the tension between the two. The next song he played is 'Big Daddy' which featured his new fiancé, Nicki. He and Chino danced and bopped around the room to it, as she and her friends listened with their eyes all glued to their phones. The last song he played was a Club song that featured Lil Wayne. Meek could tell they enjoyed it because they all stood up and started dancing and snapping selfies of themselves)

Japan: "Meek, come take a picture with me" (she motions for him to join them)

Meek: "nah, nah"

Japan: "Oh, COME ON!" (she says playfully)

(Not wanting to be rude he walks over and grants her the picture. They do 3 different shots before he politely says that's enough. He walks over to the control board next to Cruz and Chino)

Chino: "this album gonna be crazy Meek" (he yells to him as the music fades)

(Meek just looks at Chino, who's standing next to him, with a aggravated grin. Chino can sense Meek's discernment. He turns around to see the 3 women all stand up at the same time. One points at the door and whispers to Chino that they're going to the restroom.

Japan leads the girls out of the door and looks at glances at Meek, catching his eye before closing it.

Meek immediately turns to chino and questions him)

Meek: "what you doing chino?"

Chino: "We was all at LIV together and I'm tryna get at her friend but they all blockin"

Meek: (smiling) "which one"

Chino: "the lil one with the pink dress on"

Meek: (dapping him up) "I'll take one for the team , TONITE.. but keep your chicks at the club and the telly.."

Chino: "good lookin..... but Japan not even on no drama shit like that...."

Meek: "yea?"

Chino: "yea, she know about Nicki"

Meek: (taking a drink of water) "yea, all these chicks gon have to get familiar....she here now for GOOD..."

Chino: "for good?"

Meek: "yea man, im lockin' it down"

Chino: (his eyes grow wide) "word?? You retiring from the game?"
