A few days went by and it was back to work for everyone. Sienna stood in front of the firm's building looking unsure and Ethan bumped her shoulder with a mischievous smile. She snarled at him.
"Are you scared?" Ethan teased.
"Scared? Me? Impossible" Sienna loudly denied but she still looked hesitant to step inside.
"Gosh, you will look more pathetic if you act like this" Ethan groaned, tired of staring at her hesitant form and grabbed her hand. Sienna looked at him with wide eyes as he pulled her to the door.
Before they reached the door, Sienna claimed her and walked in, leaving Ethan behind. Ethan sighed and patted himself consolingly. "It won't be long, soon" he said and walked in.
At the elevator, Sienna looked nervous and her legs bounced with uncertainty. Ethan watched her and placed a calming hand on her shoulder. Sienna looked at him and relaxed.
The elevator door opened and they stepped out and entered the office. Sharon and Jane were talking excitedly and Rotimi and Deborah were in the middle of an handshake.
"Ethan, good morning, happy new year" Rotimi said brightly then meekly looked at Sienna. "Good morning Attorney Sienna, happy new year."
"Good morning, same to you" Sienna answered nonchalantly and went to her office. Rotimi and Ethan watched her shut the door and Ethan felt unsure.
'I will like to believe everyone forgot, but I doubt that' He thought and turned to Rotimi. "Hey, how was your holiday?"
"Really good" Rotimi said excitedly and he talked to Ethan about his holiday as they went to their office.
In Sienna's office, she held her head in her hands, feeling awkward. "Things are going to be so weird, wait, maybe they don't care" She brightened up but quickly dismissed the thought. "I wish."
Sienna shook her head to focus. "Forget it, it doesn't matter. I have cases to get back to, worrying about other things won't help" she said and brought out files.
At the police station, Eric kept staring at Tamara and it bothered her. She confronted him on their way out on a mission.
"Why were you staring at me? What do you want to ask?" She asked annoyed, her arms crossed.
"I am just curious" Eric admitted, "Chinonso is really married? Is what I heard at the gym true?"
"That is none of your business. I am not obliged to tell you anything, after all, we are not even friends" Tamara said sharply and walked away.
Eric watched her leave and a small smile slipped. "Should I be happy he is gone or be angry he deceived you that way?" he said softly, then joined his group.
At the firm, Sienna took water from the office water dispenser in the lobby and Ethan stood next to her, acting like he wanted water.
"What is better? Everyone talking about it or not?" Sienna asked unsettled.
"It has been a while so it is not as surprising anymore and no one knows how to ask you anyways" Ethan answered thoughtfully.
"What is there to ask? Mr. Olayinka already told everyone everything, what else is there to know?" Sienna sneered and sipped her water.
Ethan looked at her face, then connected their pinky fingers. She looked at him in alarm but Ethan looked pleased.
"No one is coming" He said and Sienna quietly sipped her drink secretly pleased.
