I keep saying I'm okay but in my inner self, I am so broke and exhausted.

The next day at Edafe's company, he was having a meeting with the board of managers and things didn't look good.

"The company keeps going down ever since the news came out. We can lose anymore" a man said, "having you as the chairman...is not working out."

"Are you trying to kick me out? I started this company and I kept it running when the pandemic was making companies bankrupt" Edafe argued furious.

"Yes, but now you are going to drag it to the gutters now" Another man said, "you may have started the company but you didn't bring it up all on your own."

"We have a lot of employees under us who will be affected if we sink any lower" A woman said gently, "I think it is time we change the chairman."

"Unbelievable!" Edafe erupted angrily but he couldn't argue.

Edafe left the meeting room angrily when it was over and went to his office. He sighed in exasperation, clutching his head.

"Sir" his secretary politely said.

"Yes?" Edafe responded irritated.

"Mr. Adesina is here. He wants to see you, he says it is urgent" the secretary informed and Edafe narrowed his eyes wintrily.

"Let him in" Edafe said and the secretary nodded.

Seconds later, Mr. Adesina walked in. "Daddy Laura, why are you here?" Edafe asked unaccommodatingly.

Mr. Adesina sat down opposite Edafe. "I came to see you concerning the reckless acts of your daughter" Mr. Adesina righteously said, "she is in the wrong and she is suing my daughter?"

Edafe stared at him disbelief, "your daughter is the cause of all this mess and you are blaming Sienna. Be warned Femi."

"Your daughter's lack of discipline reflects on you. That is why this happened" Mr. Adesina argued. "if you had trained her well, this wouldn't be happening."

Edafe tried to hide how much those words stung.

"Don't think I don't know you are secretly buying shares from my company" Edafe cast a levelled gaze at him, "if you are trying to oust me out of my own company, you are wrong."

"I thought of Laura as a daughter but she has tried to ruin me. She is getting what she rightfully deserves" Edafe monotonously said.

"All this for an adopted daughter that is not a part of our family?" Mr. Adesina looked upset.

"Sienna is my daughter, my child" Edafe said firmly, "no one can tell me otherwise now please leave. You are no longer welcome in this office."

Mr. Adesina looked insulted but had nothing else to say and got up. He left and Edafe heaved a sigh exhausted.

At the law firm, Sienna was in her office looking up plane tickets and flight time online on her private laptop. She sighed dispirited as she saw the prices.
