"Do you, Christopher, take Jatavia to be your wedded wife, to cherish in love and in friendship, in strength and in weakness, in success and in disappointment, to love her faithfully, today, tomorrow, and for as long as the two of you shall live?" The officiant spoke, Chris smiled and looked Jatavia up and down."I do." He smiled, Tavia blinked back tears.
"And do you, Jatavia, take Christopher to be your wedded husband, to cherish in love and in friendship, in strength and in weakness, in success and in disappointment, to love him faithfully, today, tomorrow, and for as long as the two of you shall live?" He repeated.
"I do." Jatavia smiled.
Chris wiped her eyes, trying not to mess up her makeup."Thank you, Tavia. Thank you for making me smile, thank you for making me happy, thank you for making a father again, and thank you for making me into the man I am today. You changed me in such a short amount of time and I'm so thankful you did. I love you with everything in me, I love waking up next to you, I love your smile, I love your soul, I love your personality, everything about you I adore. I'm grateful to be able to call you Mrs. Brown." Christopher spoke, letting a few tears fall.
Jatavia held herself back from kissing him and fanned her face.
"Thank you Chris. Thank you for making me a mother, thank you for teaching me what love looks like, thank you for teaching me to appreciate the little things, thank you for changing my outlook on life, and thank you for loving me. This has been the best year of my life, it's crazy, a wrong text could lead to 2 years and hopefully many more. I love you with everything in me, you're the most hardworking and amazing person I've ever met. I love your personality, the way you light up any room, the way you don't let peoples words affect you, I love you and I'm grateful I can be called Mrs. Brown." She sniffed.
They both slipped the rings onto each other's fingers.
"Having pledged your fidelity to one another, to love, honor and cherish one another in the presence of this gathering and by the authority vested in me, it is my honor to now pronounce you Mr. and Mrs. Brown. You may kiss the bride." The officiant smiled.
Chris grabbed Tavia by her waist and kissed her passionately- the small crowd of family & friends aww'd & clapped, but it felt like it was just them.
