Dear Journal,
Felix invited me for ice cream. I was upset about getting robbed of course and I wanted to kiss Felix when I saw him again, but every time we did, something bad happened. Maybe I was destined to be with someone else. I sound crazy, Felix and I just vibed, there's no way that we could just leave things like they are after all that had gone down... no way.
But how am I going to pay rent?!? I can barely pay for food!
I arrive at the shop, Felix is leaning next to the door staring down at his phone, "Hey" he says with a gentle smile.
"Hey" I say back, returning the smile.
I open the door with my key, we walk in and turn on the lights. They flicker before fully turning on. The floorboards creak with each step, "Wanna go to the roof?" I ask.
"Yeah."
We first pick out our flavors, he chooses MintChip and I choose plain vanilla, my favorite.
Last time I had it, Felix had run off after I kissed him, I thought the world was going to end and then he kissed me at his house. But now we are here, in the moment...
As we sat, staring at the sunset like a few days ago, I noticed that I kept on thinking about Felix. If you were to count how many times I mentioned that I couldn't stop thinking about every moment with him, there wouldn't be a number for it!
But today, the main thing on my mind was my financial situation. Funny thing is, I didn't call the police or anything. I mean-it's not like they would be able to catch the guy. My landowner wasn't caring enough to install cameras.
My landowner is the average white guy with a big belly and a musty beard. "I don't give a damn about your situation. If you don't pay the rent by the due date, you are out until you pay again." he spat at me when I tried to negotiate with him.
At least I wasn't fully kicked out–only until I can pay rent again. Then I can move in after I'm able to pay.
I got a call from Felix the next morning.
"Dude! I convinced my mom to let you stay at my house!" He practically screamed into the phone. When did he gets so vocal? What happened to the shy guy I met at the ice cream shop?
"Really?! " I started jumping up and down in my living room. "This is great!"
"NOBODY CARES!!!" the guy above me, again, shouted back.
"Rowan! Where is my money?" The landowner stomped his feet up the stairs and pounded on my door.
"I don't have it!" I say to him, swinging the door open
"Then you aren't welcome back to your apartment until you pay." he growls and points out the door.
I quickly grabbed all my clothes and stuffed them into my bag.
I wonder if I'll be sharing a bed with Felix? I shake my head to clear out the thought and run out of the building, walking to Felix's house with a big smile across my face.
