Ranique's P.O.V

I looked to the side and saw Celene sleeping peacefully, I smiled a little bit, she come like some baby to mi. Probably did just fraid and come hook up and fall asleep, naah wake har she have school tomorrow, deeven know why mi mek she stay over pon a school night, just torment when she nuh deh near mi. Sometimes mi haffi chill ova waah villa just because the house seem empty, but having her here right now, feels like what I'd like to have everyday till the end.

The thought came to me, I can't let her stay here I need to take her to her bed. I thought of lifting her, but would that interrupt anything. I eased her head off my lap and I stood and looked at her. I thought the best way to carry her would be bridal style. I held her close to my chest as I took her down the steps and I was being more careful with her than I am with myself, maybe that's why I rammed my little toe on the left foot into the door post while taking her towards the bed. Did affi bite mi lip and cuss every badword mi know inna mi head till mi stop see blinky.

Finally got her to the bed, and tried to put her down as gently as possible. I placed her down and sat at the edge of the bed trying to be careful not wake her and held my toe. This hatta than when yuh scrape yuh car fi the first car. Cyah  believe mi prefer will on to pain than disrupt her perfect peace. When man love woman dem really turn one big clown. I heard a small sound. She decided to wake up. Oh boy, she decided to wake up after I held in so much to make sure she stayed asleep, really.

"Come nuh", she said out of nowhere.

"Where are we going?", I asked, caz she just wake, wah she a come nuh bout.

" Just come lay down nuh babe, mi waah sleep", she said. Well, mi already done wid the skull, alright, can stay.

I went to settle by her side, she came up closer to me and snuggled up to my chest. Throwing her arm around me and pulling me in. Suh mi a wah, teddy bear? Alright. She drop out inna like 5 seconds. And by the time mi blink, a  7:53 am. Rassclaat.

Celene a draw third gear a gaah London and deeven a see waah gwan. I decided she is probably tired, I went downstairs to see what could go for breakfast, I was gonna pretend to be a big chef but for late night snack purposes mi kitchen have a variety a cereal she must like one mi turn on the coffee maker and mi guh back upstairs fi wake up Celene. I rock har two side and she fly up. One big wide yawn and stretch, when she finally stop yawn she realize she just show mi har most natural state, damn lioness the way she just move, mi nuh know how that turn mi on. Wrong damn time.

"Yuh late yuh bathe and meet mi inna the kitchen" I told her while I headed back downstairs.

Celene's P.O.V

I can't blv mi cock up a sleep like a queen inna such man bed like a dolly and mi have school. Just mek the quickest one two that I could in the bathroom with my condition and got dressed and went to the kitchen.

"Which one yuh prefer?" He said showing me a variety of cereal, wah waah big man like him coulda deh do wid so much cereal?. Rass, it come to mi. Him have pickney. Mi fool. Him haffi get a youth already, as gyal see him dem aguh waah breed.

"Lucky Charms", he pushed the cereal to me along with the box of milk. But God know my feelings reflect pon my face like how water reflect images.

"Ranique are you a father?" I asked plain as day and a sudden silence enveloped the kitchen, everything pon       mannequin challenge.

He made eye contact with me like he just realized sumth. Like sumth new to him, wah him do neva remember seh him have a pickney or sumth.

"Yea, my son, shit mi fi pick him up today, neva even remember, thanks fi remind mi, yuh aguh love him" he said all in a good mood like that was a small deal.

"Why yuh neva tell mi seh yuh have waah son?" I said pissed off as ever, mi too damn young fi a play step modda enuh.

"Did just want yuh fi meet him and surprise yuh but yuh mek yuh assumptions and a twist up yuh face yah now like mi beat yuh" he said laughing. And mi kinda laugh too cause mi did a twist up mi face fi true. But how him just expect mi fi alright wid him having a kid. I put it aside for the time being, I'm late.

"Come on b, tek up two Nature Valley and come on".

Trece's P.O.V

We were almost at the gate and I was still reminiscing on last night. He didn't even attempt to do anything inappropriate and he still was the intimate person I've ever been with. He made me forget about my troubles and relax. Just a truly amazing person, and for that, I can't lead him on like this. I need to tell him.

"I'm pregnant by the way", I said as straightforward as possible.

The car took a sharp swing, but was quickly steadied. He looked confused.

"So you had a boyfriend all this time ?" He said, sounding a bit upset.

"No, he disowned the baby and I'll be raising my child alone so I didn't want things to look like  trying to pin you to a responsibility so I'm making it known so now you can opt to stay or leave".  And even though I said it all with a straight face and monotone voice, every word hurt and all I wanted was for him to embrace me and tell me everything was gonna be ok. We drove into the parking lot.

He looked over at me with sincerity. " I'm proud you decided to keep your child and that you're honest enough to let me know before I got tied up, I'm still here for you and I'm gonna be here, naah fi seh 40 yuh know the root a it".

Not the hug that I felt the need for but having him not run as far away from me after finding out was really great on my end.  That's when I realized all now Celene nuh reach. I was still sitting in the car waiting for them to get here. Mussi run eh red-light,  cyah wait fi hear wah gwan, mi spell drama inna the air. Mi excited fi mi gyal.

Same time dem pull up. I got out of the car and walked over, a wah yuh did a duh last night mek yuh couldn't wake up miss. Such man laugh, and she start blush, wonda if mi right sah.

Ranique started saying something to Celene so I turned to look over at my hopetobecomeman. "This evening at 5", he said. "Wouldn't miss it for anything ", I smiled and told him later and they both got into the cars getting ready to leave.

"Yes gyal waah the drama" I said ready to hear everything.

"We move gaah nice apartment but him have a son".........

"Dash it pon mi without warning, watch  Aunty Cece", I laughed and she smiled. "If him love yuh, the child is just a bonus, don't jump to conclusions on the situation just yet".

And that's when it started...........the pain.
