YOUR POV

Logan, Carlos, and Kendall obviously caught on because their faces lit up, especially Kendall’s.

“How about we take a few of the girls to film it with us instead of hiring the actresses?” James concluded.

I smiled wide and nodded at Sam. “Yes! Please?”

“And they can be in the party scene, too!” Carlos exclaimed.

Sam shrugged. “Sure, let’s go to the pond!”

“Wait.” I said. “How many of us are needed for each scene?”

“All of you for the party scene, and four for the pond scene.” Sam said. “YN, you pick because I’m not gonna make me or the boys look like asses for not choosing everyone.”

“Gee thanks.” I said. “Okay so I don’t really have to be in it if you guys want to-“

“YN. You’re gonna be in it.” Kendall said, walking up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist, and resting his chin on my head.

I looked up at him. “Should I even try to argue?”

He smirked and shook his head.

I rolled my eyes and turned back to the group of girls. “Okay so who WANTS to be in the pond scene...whatever that is.”

Everybody but Carly and Amanda raised their hands.

“Really?” I said to them.

Amanda shrugged. “If we’re gonna be in another scene anyways I don’t understand why I need to be in both.”

Carly nodded in agreement with her.

“Okay then, um...Taylor you’re definitely going to be in it.” I laughed, knowing it’d mean a lot to her. “And Kristen, and Celeste because you’re my room mate and you’d probably plot my death if I didn’t let you in. Plus Marissa you couldn’t ever be mad at me, so...”

Marissa laughed as the other girls squealed with excitement.

“Okay, so, each of you pick a guy.” Sam said.

Taylor went to Logan, Celeste to James, and Kristen to Carlos. I, obviously, stayed with Kendall.

“So what are we supposed to do for this scene?” Kristen asked.

“Just sort of hang out, really.” Carlos said. “Mess around, jump off rocks, splash each other, just random stuff.”

“Shouldn’t we tell Maggie about this?” Amanda asked.

Everyone on the team paused for a second. I looked at Sam. Him and Maggie were really close friends. They went to the same college, and she majored in dancing while he decided to go into music and managing.

“I’ll text her. She’ll be okay with it as long as you guys don’t have rehearsal or anything.” Sam clarified.

“Not today, we have rehearsal in tomorrow.” Carly said. She was always on top of things when it came to our schedules so we just went with whatever she said.

“Awesome, let’s go!” Logan said, then took off running towards the cars at the top of the beach. The way this beach was designed was there was the road, a grassy-ish sandy dune-type-hill thing and then the sand of the beach and then the ocean. We all jogged after Logan and piled into the cars, Kendall and I taking the jeep to ourselves, Sam and everyone else in an SUV limo.

“How long are you guys in Maui for?” Kendall asked me once we’d set out on the road.

I was leaning on my arm out the window when I responded, “Six days. Today’s our free day.”

“What are you doing the next five days, then?”

“Tomorrow is rehearsal, then our competition, and the last two days day we’re rehearsing for and then doing a public performance somewhere then going home.”

He nodded. “We leave after we finish this video, so probably tomorrow or the day after. We might get an extra day or two because we want one.” He laughed.

I pulled my arms and head back into the jeep and leaned back against the seat, looking out the window.

I nodded in response to what he’d just said to let him know I was listening, blinking back tears.

“YN?” He said. “Are you okay?”
