YOUR POV

I looked down, took a deep breath, then back up at him, meeting his eyes for a good ten seconds before saying, “Kendall, I love you.”

Most people would say that they regretted confessing something like that moments after they say it. Me, on the other hand, I was GLAD I’d finally told Kendall how I really felt. It was good to put that out there and if he didn’t feel the same way, so be it. But now he knew and there’s no point in regretting it because I can’t simply take it back or just not feel the way I do.

I refused to lose eye contact with him, resisting the urge to look away. My hands, which now rested my lap, were shaking with nervousness. Although I was glad it was out, that was still a very nerve-wracking thing to do. And bold of myself. I was proud I was the first one to say it, that being said if he even felt the same way.

“I love you, too.” He said sincerely, the smile on his face growing an inch ever second as a grin slowly spread across my face, too. “I love you so much.”

He said, then pressed his lips to mine, kissing me passionately. It wasn’t like we were making out, and it wasn’t like the way we kissed earlier to make up for lost time. It was simply passionate and loving. Neither of us caring if the others saw us, just overwhelmed in the emotion of the moment, taking in every precious second and savoring it.

“You can stop shaking.” He smirked, his face just centimeters from mine as his hands reached over to cover mine, which were still trembling.

“I’m sorry, that was just the bravest thing I’d ever done.” I laughed, then took a shaky breath.

“Calm down, YN.” He laughed. “I love you, too, okay? No need to be scared or nervous, I love you, too.”

I smiled and nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat as I said, “This just made leaving ten times harder.”

He shook his head and smiled. “No. It didn’t. Because now we both know that nothing will come between us, no person, no distance, no amount of time-nothing. And that makes it so much easier because I know I’ll still have you when you leave and I’ll have you when you come back.”

I smiled with glassy eyes and threw my arms around his shoulders, his arms immediately wrapping around my waist.

“I’m so lucky to have you, I honestly don’t know what you see in me.” I said, holding him as close to me as possible. “And quite frankly I don’t care because you love me and that’s all I care about, that’s all I’ll ever care about. I don’t need to be a dancer, I don’t need to be rich or famous or any of that I just need you, Kendall. And now I’m going on and on but I can’t believe that-“

“YN.” He pulled away and held my face in his hands, my hand instinctively reaching up for his wrist. “I see in you what every guy sees. A beautiful, funny, kind, amazing girl that is so passionate about everything she does, just passionate about life in general. I see a girl that’s so incredibly amazing that I don’t know why she would ever want anything to do with a dork like me, but I’m not going to question it. Because no matter how many people tell you that I’m crazy or that you’re crazy, we both are for loving each other. We’re just the weirdest two people anybody will ever meet but that’s okay, because even if the rest of the world shut us out, we’d still have each other. YN I know exactly how you feel because I feel the same way. You don’t have to explain it.”

There was nothing in the world that could stop me from smiling right now, my face lit up like a never-ending firework on the fourth of July.

“Hey, we’re about to head up to the house if you guys are ready.” Logan said to us.

“We’ll be there in a few.” I said to him and he smiled, gave a single nod, and turned back to the rest of the group who started loading into their cars.

“Ready to go?” I said to Kendall as we stood up.

He grabbed my hand and smiled. “Ready for anything.”
