YOUR POV
“Yeah, I’m over him. Boy that good looking can’t possibly be publically dating anybody anyways, poor girl would be murdered by haters.” Celeste added.
“What do you mean?” I asked cautiously. Did Celeste know about Halston?!
“He’s probably hiding a girlfriend or something.” Celeste shrugged. “Is he?”
“I really don’t know.” I said. “I don’t really talk to him about his relationships since I’m kind of in one.”
“I gotta go.” Marissa said. “See you guys at rehearsal tomorrow.”
“See ya.” Celeste waved.
“Bye.” I said, and then I texted Kendall for the next couple hours, until I fell asleep.
Rehearsal went as scheduled the next couple days until the competition. We were all surprised by the results. The group dance won third, the soloist from the other studio won fifth, my solo won second, the duet from the other studio didn’t even place, the duet from my studio won third, and Dally and I were the only entry from either studio to win first.
Tough competition? More like tough luck. I was honestly hoping for the judges not to pic our duet. Because winning first in a duet with a guy meant that we were a good couple. I don’t want a “good couple.” I want a crazy, dorky, ridiculous couple, with Kendall.
It was around nine and we all decided to rent out one of the ballrooms in the hotel for a celebration. We didn’t party after every competition, but since this was probably the last time our studios would interact, since there’s was in Virginia, we decided to make the best of it.
It was in the middle of the night, and I’d been glued to my phone, texting Kendall. He got off work-er, filming-around six, so I’d been texting him since seven thirty when the competition ended.
“Would you put that thing away?” Dally said, walking over to me. Everybody else was enjoying the music blasting so loud that Dally had to practically yell for me to be able to hear him at all.
“I’m not really in the mood to celebrate. This competition sucked.” I laughed.
“But we got first!” He said.
I shrugged, then looked down to begin answering the text I’d just received from Kendall.
“No.” Dally said, snatching the phone out of my hand and locking it.
“Hey!” I said, reaching for it.
A playful smile grew on his face as he ran out of the ballroom, me chasing after him.
“Dally, I’m serious.” I said once he’d slowed down a little farther down the hallway. “Give it back.”
“Nope!”
“I’m not playing!” I said. I really wasn’t! I needed Kendall more than this stupid party.
“But I am, and I have the phone so I guess I call the shots.” Dally said, then hid the phone behind his back.
I reached behind him to grab it, and he held my hand in place. I reached with my other hand, and he held that one there, too. We stood there like that for a second, him holding both of my hands be hind his back while I helplessly stared into his eyes.
“Dalton,” I said. “Give me the damn phone.”
“You’re feisty.” He said. “I like that.”
“Okay, cook, give me the fucking phone.” I demanded, my gaze turning into a glare.
“You know, I’ve always had a crush on you.”
I froze.
“Yeah,” He continued. “Ever since I first saw you. You’re so beautiful, YN, you know that?”
“Dally, stop, I have a boyfriend.” I reminded him while I tried to pull my arms back, but his grip was too strong.
“I don’t even care that you’re taken right now.” He said, and before I knew it, he was leaning in and his lips were heading for mine.
