YOUR POV
The amount of passion in his voice left me speechless as I stood there, looking into his eyes, unable to move so much as an inch.
“I love you.” I said, not really sure how else to describe what I’m feeling right now.
“And I love you, too, YN. That’s why I’m here.”
“Wait...not to ruin the moment, but why ARE you here?” I asked. It was probably around two or three in the morning by now and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t go on walks every night.
He shrugged. “I honestly don’t even know. I couldn’t sleep so I was gonna go on a walk, but then I came outside and saw you.”
“Wait...so your hotel is right there? I thought it was eight miles from mine?”
He nodded. “I guess you walked eight miles.”
I sighed and sat back down on the sand. “More like ran.”
“You ran?”
“Yeah.”
“Wow, they don’t lie when they say dancers are in good shape. Eight miles in...how long?” He sat down next to me, his legs up with his elbows resting on his knees while I sat crisscross and played with my fingers in my lap.
“An hour, I guess.”
“Not bad.” He smiled.
I looked up at him and smiled back and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
“You can have a ride back to the hotel in the morning if you want.” He said. “Unless you’d prefer to run.”
“I think I’ll take you up on that ride. You can’t tell anybody I’m here, though. And we’d have to get back in a couple hours...my dance team wakes up around seven to get ready to go and nobody exactly knows that I left...” I said sheepishly as I repositioned myself so my legs were stretched out in front of me.
“Can you just text them?”
“My phone is in the hotel room. Only thing I brought was the room key.” I pulled it out of my shorts pocked to show him, then slid it back in.
“Really YN? Were you TRYING to get kidnapped out here?” He laughed as I smiled. “Are you cold?”
I shrugged. Truth is I was a little chilled. It may be Hawaii, but there were the normal coastal breezes at night.
“Here,” He handed me his sweatshirt and I took it, putting it on and wrapping it around me.
“Thanks.” I smiled.
“You’re just lucky I found you before some creeper did.” He stated, resuming our previous conversation.
“Yeah, I know. I wasn’t really thinking of anything except for you, anyways. And when you walked up to me I honestly felt like it was a fairytale.”
“A fairytale?” He asked, lying down with his head in my lap.
“Yeah.” I said, playing with his golden hair. “That only happens in movies. Girl crying on beach, boy randomly shows up...”
“I guess so.” He agreed.
We sat there with each other, talking and laughing and watching the ocean until the sun rose.
“Time to go.” He said glumly.
“I really don’t want to.”
“Me either.”
I leaned over and kissed him.
“We have to, though, if you’re gonna get back before your team notices you’re gone.” He said, standing up.
“You’re right.” I said, beginning to stand up before he bent over and picked me up bridal style.
“I can walk, you know.” I smirked, then kissed his jaw.
He smirked back at me, his dimples caving in. “I know, but this is more fun.”
