Kaylie made a turn to the left just as the GPS suggested. She drove through a large gate and was stopped by a security guard.

"Name?" He asked.

Kaylie opened her mouth but nothing came out. The security guard was dressed in white from head to toe.

"Name?" He asked, looking at her.

"Kaylie." She provided quickly. "Kaylie Patterson."

She waited for him to scan the guest list and when he looked up at her with a polite smile she sighed; Alex had added her name.

"Go right in Ms. Patterson and enjoy the party."

Kaylie smiled politely at him.
"Thank you."

She drove through the gravel paved path with trees on either side. When a white mansion came into view, she stared at it in surprise; she didn't expect this at all. Kaylie parked her car amongst the expensive cars, she turned the engine off and pulled the keys from the ignition. She sat there for a moment and took a deep breath, turning to her right, she stared at the mansion. She reached the passenger's seat for her bag and the gift she had gotten for Sarah. She stepped out of her car and hung her bag across her shoulder, she tugged at the hem of her top then shut the door. She made her way to the entrance of the mansion.

Alex couldn't stop the smile that tugged at his lips when he watched Kaylie from his bedroom window. He had come upstairs to get away from the single mothers' downstairs and now he was going back down because she was here.

Kaylie stepped inside the mansion into a large hallway, there were two wide open doors on either side leading to a living space on her left and a mini version on her right.
"Hello?" She called as she walked inside.

She walked down the hallway in slow quiet steps. Alex was down the stairs in record time, he made his way through the large living area to the hallway and he caught Kaylie making her way down the hallway towards the kitchen. He smiled.

"Lost?"

Kaylie turned around with her heart about to leap out of her chest.
"Jesus." She placed her palm on her chest as she exhaled.

"So, you're religious?" Alex smiled as he approached her.

"You scared the crap out of me." She said frowning as he approached her.

"No then." He reached her and stopped. "I'm sorry."

She sighed inaudibly and nodded.
"I'm sorry I'm a little late."

"It's ok. I'm just glad you came."

She smiled and blinked. He looked spectacular in his casual all black look. Kaylie swallowed and drove the thought from her mind immediately. Married, she warned herself.
"So, where's Sarah?" She cleared her throat.

"Back there." He gestured to behind her.

"Lead the way." She stepped aside even though there was more than enough space for him to go around her.

Alex smiled and walked ahead of her and when they reached the end of the hall and came into the kitchen/dinning area which was bright because of the light coming through the glass walls.

"Wow." He stopped and turned around when Kaylie exclaimed. He watched her take in the view which none of his other guests had done. He watched her walk towards the wall and take in the view at a closer distance. Her shoulders lifted and fell in a silent sigh and he smiled; she liked what she saw.

Kaylie looked at him with a smile.
"You have a beautiful home and an amazing property." She looked back at the green that spread out beyond the pool to the ends of the property. She saw little girls run past.
