Nina was doing a lot better since the trial. She noticed she was smiling a little less fake than she had been for far too long. She felt light hearted and free. She knew she was doing well even though she hadn't kept her appointment with Doctor Lucas Miller on Wednesday because of the trial. She had also forgotten to call and after Wednesday, she just forgot about it because she felt better and she would see him the following Wednesday and tell him that.

Nina went to the room after hers and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Nina pushed the door open and stuck her head inside surprised to see Catherine still in bed.
"Hey, what are you still doing in bed?"

Catherine groaned.
"I'm not going in today."

Nina frowned and walked inside the room towards her.
"Are you not feeling ok?"

Catherine pushed her blanket away from her face and sighed.
"I don't feel like it."

Nina had heard a little bot of the intense conversation Gina and Catherine had the night before.
"Alright. I'll leave with Gina then."

Catherine nodded.
"See you later."

Nina walked back out.
"Bye, sleepy head."

Catherine stayed in bed like that for a couple of minutes thinking about everything she had found out the night before. When she finally got out of bed, she was starving, she made her way to the kitchen in shorts and a tank top. She started on breakfast after she took out the ingredients for pancakes. She poured the last bit of batter into the pan when the door-bell rang.

She frowned wondering if Nina or her mum forgot something. She put the mixing bowl into the sink and walked to the front door.
"Coming." She called. When she reached the door, she turned the lock and pulled the door open.

Catherine froze when she saw who it was. Her heart plummeted in her chest.
"Ian." She said breathlessly.

Ian smiled that killer smile of his.
"Hey beautiful."

Catherine's mouth open and closed in the same second. She didn't know what to say, his presence was a shocker for her. When nothing came out of her mouth, she let go of the door and went straight into his arms, wrapping hers around his neck as she stood on tip-toes.
"What are you doing here?" She pulled back to look at him.

"It's a long story." He said still smiling. "Are you going to invite me in?"

"Of course." She said as she stepped back inside and let him come in before she shut the door.

"Something cooking?" Ian asked.

"Oh shit." She ran into the kitchen and turned the pancake and was surprised to see it hadn't burnt.

"All good?"

Catherine turned to find Ian in front of the kitchen counter.
"Yea." She said, her eyes fixed on his.

The room went silent as they just took in the sight of each other.
"I missed you." Catherine said.

Ian chuckled.
"I highly doubt that. You've been dodging my calls."

Catherine looked away.
"I'm sorry." She sighed as she went into the fridge to get the jug of orange juice. "Have you had breakfast?"

"Not yet."

"Want some pancakes?"

"If you're offering."

Catherine smiled at him and poured some orange juice into two glasses. She took the last pancake off the pan and turned the stove off. She carried the pancakes in one hand and two plates in the other to the dining. She was about to go back for the orange juice but Ian already had it. They say next to each other and ate.
