Kaylie made her way to Marco's that day as usual but she wasn't just going to pick up her lunch, she was meeting up with Dana. Dana was Lily – her roommate's best friend and Dana was also Richard's daughter. Small world.
Kaylie had a hint of what Dana wanted to talk about and it was definitely not about work. Lily hadn't shown up at their apartment for weeks and Kaylie knew not to say anything because Lily was quick to get angry. As far as Kaylie knew, only Dana could handle her or Lily's girlfriend, Cheryl.
Kaylie stepped inside Marco's and scanned the slightly crowded restaurant till she found the person she was here to see. She made a beeline towards her and Dana found her just as she neared the table.
"Hey Kaylie." Dana got up and hugged her.
They had known each other for far too long not to be friends. Unlike the rich spoilt daughter and wife the media had made her to be, Dana was down to earth and more normal than she would have guessed if she hadn't met her. Dana was easy to talk to and knew she worried about Lily a lot because she called every night to check if Lily was back in the apartment.
"Hi, how are you?" Kaylie asked as they took their seats.
"I'm good." Dana smiled. "You seem stressed."
Kaylie sighed.
"I have this new project Mr. Reed assigned to me and a co-worker, it's likely to get me the HOD position.""That's huge." Dana said. "Is this co-worker giving you trouble?"
Kaylie smiled.
"Sebastian is...Sebastian.""Wait, Sebastian. Young?" Dana asked.
Kaylie looked surprised.
"Yes, how do you know?"Dana smiled.
"Sebastian is Kevin's brother."Kaylie frowned.
"Your husband Kevin." She said mostly to herself. "Young, how did I not put that together?""Probably because Sebastian is...different."
"He's different alright."
"He hadn't come onto you, has he?" Dana asked.
"That's his hobby but he does that to every other female."
"Well, you seem to have him figured out."
"I'd like to think so." Kaylie smiled. "So, I can only guess why you wanted to meet up."
"Yea." Dana sighed. "It's Lily; she's thinking about moving out."
"Thinking or planning?"
"Both?"
"Let me guess, she wants to move in with Cheryl."
Dana nodded.
"I tired talking to her but she wouldn't listen to anything I have to say. I was hoping you could have a chat with her whenever she stops by.""If you couldn't convince her not to move in with Cheryl, then I doubt I'd be able to do anything."
"You could maybe make her feel bad about leaving."
"You want me to guilt-trip her?"
"I...I don't know what else to do." Dana said "My hands are tied and I can't think of anything else. I know it's not the best thing to do but it's the only thing I...you can do that wouldn't set her off."
Kaylie knew Dana was right.
"It's horrible of me to want to do that to her but it'd be worse if I lost her."
Kaylie reached out and placed her hand over Dana.
"You're a good friend and yes, I'll do what I can."Dana smiled.
"Thank you Kaylie and I'm sorry for dragging you into this."
