Ryer staring at me was really distracting, and it was hard to get my work done. Setting the papers down, I looked at him. He looked back at me.

"You done?"

"No, but I can't get anything done well you are staring at me so speak."

"Sasha what the hell do you want from me?"

"What do I want from you! You are the one who came in here demanding to speak to me, I should be the one asking that damn question!"

"That isn't what I meant Sasha, I meant when you're healed, what do you want from me? Is there a reason for you to stay?"

"Why are you even asking me that Ryer?"

"Is there a reason you would stay?"

"Is there a reason I should stay or would you rather I go?"

Ryer said nothing, not one word about either question and it left a sour feeling inside of me. I was in love with him; I knew I was. But I couldn't use those words with him, I couldn't.

"Guess not," I said, breaking the silence.

"Sasha, wait, I need----"

"I have work to do Ryer. We can talk about whatever this is, sometime later."

Ryer looked almost defeated, he didn't leave though. He took the papers off the top of the desk and stepped back from me.

"What are you doing? I need those."

"No. We need to talk."

"Ryer, I am done talking, I want---"

"It's fine that you're done talking, but I'm not. So just listen then."

"Fine." I hissed. My annoyance grew with him every second that passed.

"Sasha, I need to know what you want from me because you stabbed a man for me, and I need to know if that was out of retaliation or something more. If it's something more, we need to figure out what that something is. I know you have developed feelings for me, and I know your thoughts about that. Just tell me where we stand."

"Tell you where we stand! You want me to tell you! I can't even figure out where I stand but you want me to tell you! What happened to my feelings being a me problem, huh?"

"Sasha I didn't mean that seriously, come on. You know I wouldn't mean that."

"Do I? The last time I checked it was you who was pissed about earlier today. Not me. I was just doing my fucking job, one they trained me for."

"Sasha we weren't talking about that."

"We are now Ryer because I can't take any more of this shit. You have this image of me and how you treated me earlier was not acceptable. You are too comfortable with the at-home version of me. We both know that is probably the fakest part of me."

"Sasha—-"

"No. You shut your mouth. I'm so not done with what I have to say. If you can't handle the working side of me, then please be fucking honest with me. I won't put on an act to make you comfortable. I shouldn't have to. You work for the damned mafia for god's sake."

"You're right, you shouldn't have to put on an act to make me comfortable."

Ryer looked defeated again and that hurt. He left the office after giving me my papers back. The thing was, he had started something I wasn't ready to let go of. Taking all the emotional strength that I had, I opened the door after he shut it, checked to make sure it was only Alexi and Creed with him. I had to make him understand.
