Ryer was watching me now like I was a loose cannon. I couldn't even meet his eyes, not because of what I did, and about how he found out. But he told me he loved me. It wasn't uncomfortable per se, but odd to me. Yesterday's events were intense.

"Sasha, are you ok?"

Sighing loudly. He was concerned about my mental status, but I pushed my feelings away. I was ok. I mean, as long as I didn't think about him loving me.

"Rye. For the ninth or tenth time since I've been awake, I'm fine. Thank you for asking me, though."

"Sasha, if you're fine, then why won't you look at me?"

"I promise my past isn't the reason I can't look you in the eyes."

"It's because I said I love you, isn't it?"

The frown that set on his face told me he knew he was right.

"Ryer, I'm just having a hard time with it, it's not because of you, I promise."

"It's new to you, I understand."

I wanted to hug him. Even if only for a single moment. But standing in the kitchen, he was drinking a protein shake. I was avoiding the kitchen because he wanted to feed me that shit too, and I wasn't about it. It was suffering. Pure suffering.

We were going to work out with Alexi and Creed this morning. I hadn't seen Alexi since yesterday when he questioned me. I wondered if he was going to treat me any differently.

"Sasha, come drink the protein shake."

"Drop your pants. I'd rather have a protein shot."

Ryer choked on the mouthful of his shake, and he had to lean over the sink and cough. It was worth it. I snickered on the couch.

"Sasha. I was trying to have a drink."

"You don't want to drink that, anyway."

"I don't actually have any issues drinking protein shakes."

"Yuck."

"Sasha, I am not above forcing you."

"I like you. Don't make me fight you."

"Is that so?"

I was going to answer him, but Alexi and Creed invaded our space. Alexi looked tired, and Creed smiled. I lived with those two long enough to know what the hell they had been up to last night. I felt for Alexi. Creed was a large man. I would hate to see what he was packing under the fabric of his pants.

Alexi wrinkled his nose at the glass on the counter.

"I can't believe you try to make him drink that garbage."

"Does it look like I've got him to drink it?"

"I'm not drinking that sludge, I told you. I'll take a protein shot first."

Alexi looked confused, while Creed chuckled.

"Alexi is a fan of protein shots, too."

Alexi seemed to understand what Creed meant, and his face darkened as he turned to glare at Creed.

"I know where you sleep at night."

"I sure hope you would."

Alexi came over and sat on the couch.

"Hey, I'm sorry about yesterday. It wasn't fair to press you on the issue or even bring it up with Ryer. I should have just spoken with you about it."

"It's fine, trust me."
