The house was quiet once again, he wished that Eren was here. The silence reminded him of his time with Erwin. He hated it.

There wasn't much to do, not anyone to talk to, not very many options. The highlight of his day was when Eren had kissed him goodbye in the morning. Before he dashed out the door he made sure to give Levi a quick kiss on the lips. He placed his fingertips against his lips, Eren seemed to be back to his usual self. He seemed more affectionate lately. There seemed to be a fire of determination glistening in his eyes.

His fingers softly grazed over his lips, he couldn't feel the warm feeling of Eren's lips on his anymore. He missed that feeling, it made him feel loved.

But the loneliness was eating him alive, he wished that someone was here.

He was left alone once again. Eren and Mikasa went to school while Carla and Grisha went to work. It was times like this when he wished he had Hanji around. She was always visiting him every day to see how he was, he never said it out loud but he really did enjoy her company.

He wonders how she's doing sometimes. Hanji is probably worried sick by now. If he had his old phone then it would've been blasted with numerous calls and text messages from her.

He feels terrible for doing this to her. He's already caused enough stress for her and the baby, the last thing he wants is to do is worry her more. Not only Hanji but his mother and uncle as well, he couldn't imagine how they were reacting to the news of his disappearance.

An infinite amount of possibilities raced through his head, but there were a couple that stuck out to him the most.

There are one of two possibilities that he thought of. It could be his ex-husband looking for him, attempting to track him down and bring him back before it's too late or it could be his mother and uncle who took matters into their own hands. It's the only logical solution, how would the police even know about his disappearance, it's not like they're keeping track of him, he has no criminal record. There would be no reason for them to look for him unless someone had told them to. He had already mentioned the possible thought to Eren and Mikasa.

Eren agreed to look into it today when he got back from work, honestly, he doesn't understand how the kid does it. Goes to school for 8 hours a day, goes to work straight after school, and still manages to complete his homework. The kid stays up late at night every day just to complete it all.

He's been saving it up but still refuses to use any of it.

Mikasa is no different, she has after-school activities to take care of and yet she still cleans the house and makes food for them. He's taken that weight off of her shoulders since he's gotten here. They both must be exhausted from it all. Life certainly wasn't fair, it's hard and unpredictable.

Before he met Eren life was as dull as ever, shitty husband, shitty in-laws, domestic abuse, manipulation, the list just kept ongoing. The only thing that brought him joy was Hanji, Moblit, his uncle, and his mother. Four people, that was all. There should be more things that bring him joy in life right? People have hobbies, pets, tv shows, people, and many more things that bring them happiness. But he only has four people in his life that bring him joy, he's grateful for having them stay beside him but things don't always last forever. Eventually, people part their ways and if he ever parts ways with any one of them then he'd be nothing, and if it did happen he'd imagine that it felt like he was being stabbed. When they left him alone with Erwin he felt pain, his husband didn't bring him any joy anymore. All that was left was the shattered glass, and he was stepping on it, pretending like it didn't hurt. Looking back at it all just really showed how unhappy he was.

But now that he's with Eren, everything is so much more colorful.

Eren makes him happy, the interactions he has with Mikasa make him chuckle, talking with Armin is always a pleasure, Carla and Grisha are sweethearts, they bring just as much joy as Hanji, Moblit, Kenny, and his mother do. The joy he felt didn't just come and go, it stayed with him for a while, there was always someone around the house. Even if it was just one person there it didn't make him feel alone again, knowing that someone was there made him happy.
