Well, what he said was true.

And Naruto seemed to understand that as well. Sasuke heard a sigh coming from the blonde as he finally said something to Danzo. Something he himself was wondering as well.

"If you are gonna be consistent, then, tell me." Naruto started. "What happened to Konoha's Jinnchuriki?"

Danzo balked.

Sasuke had to hold in a small snicker. Ironic situation this was. But he was also interested in the Village's side of the story behind the disappearance of the Nine-Tails. It must have been a rollercoaster of problems and came with a multitude of holes in the story.

The initial surprise in Danzo eventually subsided and he wore a more guarded expression.

"Is the Nine-Tailed beast you're after?" Danzo asked. "Funny you should ask such a question, seeing that you're the one who stole chakra from Konoha's Jinchuriki. It's too bad then, the jinchuriki was murdered by the one and only Orochimaru."

Danzo furrowed his brows in annoyance. "The remnants of the Kyuubi should have surfaced with the death of the Jinnchuriki, but strangely, it hasn't," Danzo grunted. "You're asking the wrong person about the Jinchuriki. If you want more information, you should have gone to the Copy-Cat Ninja Kakashi. He was the Kyuubi jinchuriki's teacher."

Sasuke listened with minimal interest. Most of this he had expected. There weren't many ways for a deduction in this particular situation to be any different. He wondered what other conclusions the Konoha council had come to.

After all, the whole idea of Yoake's existence is to explain the absence of the Kyuubi.

But it was very unlikely for that chakra to go to one person entirely after death. 'Yoake' had taken only a portion of the chakra, not the whole essence of the Kyuubi. It would still make no sense for the Kyuubi to not surface. Sasuke was stirred out of his thoughts by Naruto's voice.

"You're not really reliable, are you?" Naruto drawled.

A look of frustration and anger passes over Danzo's face. "What?"

Sasuke readied his katana, once again ready to engage in another fight. He grimaced.

Time for the real show.

"-your information is wrong."

A somber chuckle came from Danzo. "There may be many inconsistencies, but I am sure of everything I hear from my subordinates."

"Oh, I'm not talking about that."

Sasuke got himself ready to leap into action again and activated his Sharingan as Naruto reached up to his half-mask.

"Does this seem familiar to you?"

Naruto's grin turned sharp as he let the chakra of the Kyuubi leak out in mass. The elder faltered ever so slightly at the sight of the supposedly dead jinchuriki, and Naruto took that moment to charge forward at an impossible speed, seeming to teleport through space as he stopped right in front of Danzo, face now on full display.

"Wasn't expecting that, huh?"

The village elder's footing faltered as Naruto, in a blink of an eye, landed a swipe of his claws through the other's torso in that moment of vulnerability. The surprise had worked on the elder. Caught off guard, he stumbled back and attempted to regain his bearings, three new wounds on his chest, all bleeding sluggishly.

Sasuke manifested his Sharingan and started to initiate a genjutsu when Danzo whipped his head around with an identical blood-red eye active, canceling out the jutsu.
