Newsies One Shots

Performance

Ms.Medda had asked you to perform at the theater a few weeks ago and you had agreed. You hadn't told the boy yet on a count that you were super insecure about your voice and was hoping the wouldn't show up. 

"Hey y/n we are all going to Ms.Medda's tonight she said that a very poifect goil was performing tonight." Crutchie says walking up to you.

"You wanna come?" 

"Um...Crutchie I can't I am suppose to babysit Les tonight." 

"Oh Les is coming Davey is bringing him." 

"Damnit, I just remebered that I have some stuff to do tonight." 

"Oh...okay well if ya change yor mind you know where to find us." Crutchie walks away and you manage to sneak out the back to head to Medda's to get ready. 

"Hi Ms.Medda am I to early?"

"Right on time actually, you excited?" 

"Kinda I am mainly nervous I hate my singing voice and now the boys are coming and they will make fun of me when they hear me sing." 

You start to cry and Medda pulls you into a hug. 

"Oh y/n they won't make fun of you and if they do just let me know so I can talk to them." "You may be all rough and tumble but you are still a girl who has emotions." 

You smile Medda had become like a mother to you and it was nice to have another female to talk to.

"Now go get set up in your dressing room amd when the boys I will send them in."

"Ms.Medda please only send in Davey and Crutchie I want the other boys to be surprised." 

"Okay, can I ask why only those two boys?"

"Well Crutchie is my best friend and like a brother to me and Davey is also like a brother to me." "Although all those boys are but out of all them they are the most sympathetic."

"Oh okay, well go get ready and if you need help let me know." 

"I will Ms.Medda." You walk off to your dressing room and get ready.

30 minutes later you are curling your hair when you hear a knock on your door.

"Come in?" Crutchie walks in with a hurt face. 

"Y/n why didn't you's tell me that you where performing tonight?" "Thought we's was best friends." 

You run over to Crutchie forgetting you are only in a corset and tights. You wrap Crutchie in a hug and cry.

"I am sorry I didn't mean to lie I am just so insecure and when Ms.Medda asked me to perform I said yes but I was hoping you guys wouldn't show up." "I didn't want yous guys to think I had a bad voice." 

"We's wouldn't have made fun of ya we support you's and we could have helped you get over your insecurity." 

"I know I am sorry, do you's forgive me?" Crutchie gives ya a kiss on the forhead and hugs ya.

"Does that answer ya question?" You giggle and the realize what you are wearing.

"Oh my god Crutchie can you help me get dressed?" 

"Sure goiling." He helps you into your dress and you finish doing your makeup and hair when you hear another knock on your door.

"Crutchie can you get that for me?" Crutchie opnes the door to reveal Davey.

Davey walks in and walks over to you while Crutchie takes a seat on the sofa in your dressing room. 

"Hi y/n how are youn doing?"

"I am doing okay, I am guessing Ms.Medda told you what was going on with me." 

"Yeah, how could you ever think we would make fun of you?" "We would never do that we all love you so much."  "We would never add to your insecurity we woukld support you." 

You look down feeling bad for everything.

"I am sorry." 

Davey walks over and pulls you into a hug and Crutchie. They both hiss your forhead and leave you alone. 

10 minutes you walk onto the stage your nerves sky rocketing.

"Ladies and Gentleman please welcome to the stage y/n l/n! " Says Ms.Medda 

The curtain opens to reveal you to the whole audience. You hear all of the Newsies cheering for you as well as the rest of the crowd. You starts to sing That's Rich.

You finish the song tears streaming down your face proud of yourslef. You walk backstage were you are tackled by the Newsies.

"Oh my god y/n you were so freaking AMAZING!" Says Race picking you up and spinning you in the air.

"Yeah where did you learn to do that?" Asks Specs

"Well Ms.Medda helped me a lot." 

"Well it payed off because you was amazing goil." Says Jack giving you a kiss on the cheek.

All the boys give you a hug and you go to dressing room to get back into your comfortable clothes feeling the most ;oved and accomplished you have ever felt.
