Newsies One Shots

First Period

Hi guys I know I already did a one shot about a period but this one was requested I was asked to keep the private though but this story is for the person that requested it. 

You and Race are brother and sister. You were both thrown into the refuge at a young age togther after you parents died and Jack Kelly helped you escape and then you became newsies when you guys were only 11 and 8. You guys had been Newsies for 5 years now and everything was great. Being the only girl newsie you were treated like the little sister by all the boys not only Race. They didn't let you do anything with boys without wanting to soak him first. Other than that you love your life and wouldn't have it any other way. You are 13 and Race is 16 and the strike had just ended. 

"Race!" "Race have you seen my shirt I can't find it?" You yell from your bunk. Race walks in and you are shirtless with only fabric wrapped around you. Hides you from the rest of the boys in the room so they don't see you. 

"Race what are doin?" 

"You aren't wearin a shirt and the boys are in here." 

"Race it is fine I am covered, and I would be wearin a shirt if I could find mine." 

"Ugh it is right here where ya left it, on ya bed." Race picks the shirt up and throws it at you. 

You put the shirt on a walk into the bathroom to get ready. You head into a stall after puttin your hair up and you look down and scream.

"AHHHHHH!" 

"Y/n are you okay what's wrong?" Asks Race who heard ya scream. 

"Um...yeah race I am fine just hurt my foot." 

"Oh okay god don't do that to me."  You hear Race walk away and you try not to cry and you think to yourself.

"What am I gonna do I bleedin, am I dyin, I don't wanna dye, I need to tell someone, but who could I tell." "Race I could tell Race but I don't want him to freak out." "Ugh god I am not gonna tell him I am sure I am fine." 

You leave the stall and wash your hands put your Newsie cap on grab you paper bag and head to Newsie square to buy your papes. 

"Mornin Weasel I need 50 papes." 

"Give y/n 50 papes before I beat her with em." Says Weasel.

Osacr hands you your papes and you put them in your bag headin to your sellin spot with Race where he is already there. 

"PAPER CHILDERN KILLED IN FIRE AT SCHOOL!" "READ RIGHT HERE!" You say right before a gentleman walks up and buys the pape. 

You and Race continue sellin until you each only have 5 left. 

"PAPER, SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED CAUSE OF FIRE!" Says Race sellin the paper to a women. 

You both finish sellin your papes before headin back to the lodge house. 

Walkin back to the lodge house Race gasps and pulls you into an alley. 

"Race what the hell was that for?" 

"Y/n why did you scream this mornin when you was in the stall?" 

"I...I...I told you, because I hurt my foot." You say lookin down so he couldn't tell that you were lyin. 

"Y/n I know that is not true." 

"What do you mean yes it is." 

"Really then why is there blood on your pants?" "\

That is when you start to cry and Race hugs you. 

"I don't know Race I looked down and I saw the blood but I just ignored it and I am really scared what if I is dyin." 

"You're not dyin I promise this is normal." 

"NO IT'S NOT!" You scream and run back to the lodge house tears streamin down your face. 

Race is chasin after you but is stopped by Albert and Davey while the rest of the boys huddle around him. 

"Wow Race what is goin on why is y/n so upset?" Asks Albert. 

"Yeah why was she cryin is she okay, did she get hurt?" Asks Davey gettin worried. 

"Guys she is fine I prmoise she didn't get hurt she um...um...she started her period and it is the first one and she didn't believe me when I told her it was normal and she ran away cryin." 

"How did you know she got it, I am guessin she didn't tell yous." Says Albert 

"It went through her pants and I saw and pulled her into the alley and tried to explain but she ran off before I could say anythin." 

The boys all blush and don't know what to do. 

"Um...I have a question, what is a period?" Asks Les

Davey goes bright red while the rest of the boys look at him. 

"I'll explain it later Les but to sum it up it is where a girl bleeds for a week or so." "it just makes sure she is healthy and can one day have a baby if she wants to." Says Davey 

Les nods and they all look back at Race. 

"So Race what are you goin to do's about this?" Asks Jack 

"I am goin to talk to her about this by myslef so if you all could stay here and pretend you don't know anythin that would be great so she doesn't get embarrassed." 

"Will do, um Race how do you expect to explain everythin to her?" "Like how do you know what happens and all that?" Asks Crutchie 

"When I was in the refuge a girl saw that I had a little sister y/n and I told her are situation and she told me everything I needed to know that way when this did happen I would be prepared." 

The boys all nod and Race heads over to the lodge house to see you sittin on your bed tears rollin down your face but no noise coming from you. 

Race takes a seat next you and gives you a side hug. You lean into him still cryin. 

"Y/n I promise this is totally normal, it is called a period and it happens once a month." "It is so you can stay healthy and it just makes sure that one dya of you ever want kids you can get pregnant." "You will be in pain so if you don't wanna work some days I get it and I won't force ya." "i know ya probably hate havin me explain this to ya so I will have Katherine explain the rest but for know all you need to know is that it is normal and that I a here for you always." 

You hug Race and you are still crying. 

"I am sorry I lied and didn't tell you also sorry for yelling and crying so much." 

"It is okay you also will be emotional so it isn't you fault." 

"How do I keep it from staning my pants?" 

"That is somethin i prepared for years ago." Race walks into the bathroom and comes back with a pad. 

"I will have Katherine explain how to use that but for know change your pants and then head over to Katherine's. 

You nod and chnage your pants and then you and Race leave. While you are walkin to Katherine's the boys all run over to you with Race glarring at them.

"Hey y/n are you okay?" Asks Davey

"I am fine Davey apparently I have thsi really cool thing called a period so lucky me." You say hiding your face from embarresment. 

The boys all give you a hug and a kiss on the cheek and you head over to Katherine's feeling a little bit better than you did this morning.
