You and Race had been dating for a while now and you had never seen him be romantic and to be honest you never expected it. you were the romantic one and you had gotten tired of it. 

"Crutchie this isn't fair I want someone to bring me flowers, I want to be kissed in the rain, and I just want him to be romantic is that to much to ask?" 

"No y/n your feelinsg are valid no matter what people say." 

"Thank you I mean it is just annoying and I know I should be lucky i mean I am dating Race but still I think I wanna breakup with hims." 

"No y/n you can't do that yous would break his heart." "I mean do whatever you wnat but maybe give him a little more time." 

"Crutchie I have given him 8 months and still nothin."

"Y/n he has never been in a relationship before so this is new for him."

"I guess I will give him 1 month but if he still isn't being romantic we are done." You leave Crutchie and smell somethin amazing coming from the rooftop. You follow the smell. 

You get to the rooftop and see Race setting up two fresh bakes loaves of bread and seltzer with candles. Not only that he was clean and was wearing a vest and tie. 

"Race what is all this?" Race didn't see you and he screams and knocks everything over making a mess. 

"AHHH Y/N DON'T DO THAT!" "You scared me and know everythin is ruined." 

"Race what are doing up here and where did you get the bread and seltzer this all must have been so expensive."

"I wanted to suprise you I have been planning this sense we started dating." Race says while blushing. 

You walk over and hug him and cry. 

"Y/n I am sorry I didn't mean to make yous cry I was just tryin to be nice and romantic cause you is always romantic to me." "Please don't cry, why are you cryin?" 

"Race I was just tellin Crutchie that I didn't think you wnated to be romantic and that I should leave yous but i was so wrong I loves yous so much." 

Race is shocked and hugs you tighter and kisses your forhead. 

"You wnated to break up with me?" 

"I didn't actully wnat to I was just tired of always being the romantic one but I was so wrong." 

"I love you so much y/n I am sorry I made you feel this way." 

"It is okay I forgive you and thank you for plannin this you look very handsome." You say pulling him into a kiss. 

"Sorry it got ruined." 

"It isn't ruined just has a bit of a newsies twist to it." 

"Haha this is why I love you." 

You and Race sit down on the rooftop and eat the bread and drink the seltzer and both of you cuddle and fall asleep.
